I’ve heard a few wild rumours in my time that she and Alex broke up as she cheated on him (won’t mention who with).
I think she’s got her head screwed on and is super bright, albeit definitely with disordered eating. Impressive that she didn’t ever touch drugs given the circles she ran in (and the desire to be so thin).

I assumed she was so thin because she did drugs, so that's surprising to hear.

I feel weird watching Alexa. It’s like she’s stuck in a time loop, like her little joke at the start about the cat and how she looks like a jonathan… I don’t know how to describe it - like quite quirky and cute but a teeny bit immature. Like hanging out with your younger sisters mates and knowing you were exactly the same at their age but now you find them immature?

I don’t believe for a second that she never dabbled in substances, though she probably doesn’t anymore. With her lifestyle and friend group (and weight loss) at the height of her popularity, it seems inevitable that she would, but she must’ve been more discreet about it than other, bigger celebrities. Does anyone else remember gossip sites from the aughts that were full of paparazzi photos of celebs passed out at parties and whatnot? What a wild time.

That set she was in with for a while Nick Grimshaw etc was very snowy. She was also besties with Poppy and Cara D for a while and there are loads of blinds and bits on here about their love of the white stuff. I can’t imagine her only sipping on a Diet Coke in the corner.

It's super campy, which I kind of love, but you're right that none of these women will eat any of it. I think it's her friend's birthday though, not hers, as Alexa turned 40 last year.

@Cloak that sucks that she was so rude to you! People don't realize that you always remember that kind of thing. Especially since she was once a clueless 20-something whose job it was to bother bands and musicians for interviews they didn't want to do.

I wonder what Alexa actually DOES anymore. To make a living, I mean. If you look at her Instagram, she only appears to party, go on holiday, show up at events, and do the occasional ad or brand partnership. Maybe her past jobs have allowed her to be a woman of leisure now?

Thank you for the tea @GingerSquid. The most surprising thing to me is that she took acting courses. Maybe you have to do that if you're on TV? I don't think she'd be where she is today if she hadn't lost all that weight. She is naturally beautiful, but her thinness is probably, sadly, the real reason she was a fashion darling. She also has the benefit of a petite frame, so she somehow doesn't look bony or sickly (of course, who knows what her health is like). I have a friend who used to run into her occasionally when she lived in New York, and she said each time she was shocked at how tiny Alexa is in real life.

Totally agree! She was very attractive, but there were lots of other very attractive girls (and guys) on the course … it was a popular one for models and dancers moving into acting .. as it was part time around other commitments. I think she got T4 during it as it’s two years. She was the year above us. I saw her at things post weight loss, and it sort of did make her stand out more, as awful as that is, as she looked taller for it. She isn’t short of course, but also not crazy tall like a supermodel. She was always scanning the room and that made her seem somewhat insecure. I can’t say too much more as it would be too outing. I realise this is a rave thread, so to add balance, I will say she is incredibly quick and doesn’t miss a trick. She has a bigger intellect than most models and TV presenters and again that was a point of difference and helped her get on. I know that’s sort of obvious, but in real life it’s quite striking when you meet her.

Anyone else feel like all the video campaigns Alexa is in sound the same? It’s the same “I know you know I know this is dumb but the camera’s rolling so I’ll play along for laughs” kind of vibe.

Yes and it's annoying. I was going to get this month's Elle Magazine 40th Anniversary issue with her on the cover but the interview put me off. She's obviously gone back to modelling for work, but once again it's the usual "ugh, modelling, not interested, I want to do other stuff" yawnfest.

I remembered this thread after watching her in Lisa Eldridge's makeup video. Still very beautiful and seems to be leaving her face mostly alone as she ages, but comes across as having never shown any life growth or self-reflection?

They make a joke about her never growing up ... But I'm like, okay, har-de-har, it's fine to be childlike in your 40s but not immature? Kinda coming across like a knob, to be honest.

I started one of these threads before but in the wrong place. Anyway does anyone else love her on YT? I really thought she would be a bit annoying but she is so clever and funny. I am an absolute convert. Also though her videos aren't always very long they look good and she obviously cares about them. I thought she deserved her own rave thread!

Agree with everything, Her YouTube channel is SO good, she’s downright hilarious. As well as gorgeous and impeccably stylish. I’m sure she is anorexic too though, I thought I posted a pic (one she openly uploaded to her Instagram ) in the other thread we had about her , where she looks really malnourished.

Her AlexaChung clothing line is so overpriced for a lot of polyester, not to mention it all runs very, very small. Some of the stuff is cute, if you're into 60s and 70s rock and roll throwbacks with a heavy dose of irony, but their founder is almost 40 and it's hard to imagine most women in that age bracket wanting to wear those things. I'm not quite sure what you'd call Alexa's style anymore. For a while, I thought she wasn't even at Paris Fashion Week this year; she was, it's just that none of the fashion/street style sources featured her.

She’s lent her face and name to so many brand partnerships already, but I wonder how far that will carry her now. At this point, there’s a whole generation that probably has no idea who the Mulberry Alexa is named after. She’s too old to be relevant to Gen Zers, and she’s too much of a Peter Pan to be relatable to the millennials who grew up with her, who are now mostly married with kids.

Her clothing was really poor quality - I ordered a few pieces maybe a year after she launched to see what they were like and they were really cheap. The jeans were terrible - really thin like Primark jeans. I also bought a jumper which had a cool motif on the front, it started fraying after about 3 wears - contacted ALEXACHUNG (I did order through Yoox I think) and they directed me back to Yoox who then fobbed me off. It was such poor quality hence me contacting the actual company.

I think she is quite witty and funny but I find her very triggering to follow/watch as she is so thin. I have been down an ED road unfortunately in my life and she brings back a lot of memories unfortunately, sure thats my issue not hers but im not entirely sure she is in a healthy place.

The pool of eligible men in a realistic age bracket who are willing to date an aging It girl is undoubtedly getting smaller and smaller. At least the ones who want a serious relationship.
