This post would be more convincing if she hadn't shared it alongside a photo of herself where her stomach looks flat and she is wearing activewear 🥴

At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking this is a before and after transformation pic. Or is it just me??

yeah, what's the deal with the photo of herself?! it's not relevant, given the fact that her stomach clearly doesn't resemble the one in the tweet she's referencing! presumably just another opportunity to slyly highlight that her stomach is fairly flat to boost her own confidence! 🙄🙄

She really is intolerable at the moment.

The egg freezing ✨journey✨ is just another desperate plea for attention. She'll try and sell it that she's being real and honest and informative about the process like she's performing a public service. And her echo chamber will no doubt tell her how brave she is. 🥴

I used to enjoy her content but there is literally nothing worth following for anymore.

I like Alex and agree with everything she said about Charlotte Dawson. She's not calling her out for losing weight, she's calling her out for preying on young impressionable girls on Boxing Day using diet culture. Shocking really when Charlotte gathered a mass of fans with her so called body positivity and acceptance of tummies etc.

Is it me or the whole immature persona she creates is just weird. Like crying for hours leaving your parents and saying you're not comfortable on your own at the airport. She's 34! That's just bizarre.

And whatever she’s currently going through will be being documented behind the scenes so she can turn it into content fodder and monetise it in due course.
Up next on the sofa with Holly & Phil: how social media sucked a body positivity influencer back into the grips of disordered eating.
Sadly you are more than likely not wrong ...content for book 2 !

She's lost all credibility as far as I'm concerned, for me it was the exercise mirror in January..having absolutely slated that awful Charlotte Dawson for releasing her diet scam, she then a week later is shilling a very expensive piece of exercise equipment during a period of time post Christmas when people are at one of their most vulnerable time body image wise ...and she never addressed any of the very valid comments made on that post! She's progressively gotten worse as the year has gone on, her attitude generally now is arrogant and pissy ( if you dont like me unfollow me ..are we 15 ?) plus all the attention seeking silly me typos stuff 🙄 ...She's just a sales page now and her once important message has been completely diluted because of her need to monetise every situation!

Sad really because she was once one of the good ones

God she's insufferable! Absolutely no mention of the privilege she has in order to be able to afford to decide to freeze her eggs! And is there really a silence around IVF and fertility..certainly not in my world..or is this just the latest bandwagon Alex has decided to jump on.

Just want to add, having children is as privilege and not a right. They are gifts and not all are lucky to have them. I hope she has factored that into her latest attention seeking mission!

Please report that to the ASA @girl1980 (if you haven’t already) - it’s missing the crucial “AD” and obscuring the “aff” like that is also not adhering the rules.
and a reminder that influencers make 5-11% commission of anything you buy from that retailer for the next 30 days once you click that link. It’s big business for them (huge), it’s really not asking much for influencers to declare it fairly.

She’s another influencer who seems to have changed so much this year. Used to really enjoy her content and calling out of diet culture bullshit…but now she’s just another influencer preaching at us all, with no more experience of the issues she purports to be an expert in than you or I.

I guess in the end, the ad deals and partnerships just get too tempting and they all sell out and turn into the very people they were initially fighting against.

Much like Danae Mercer sadly.

I wonder if 2023 will finally be the turning point for Instagram. A lot of them jump on every bandwagon going - I wonder if it’s desperation to cling on to the sinking ship 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think it’s veering onto irresponsible here. I downloaded BEAT’s Media Guidelines for discussing eating disorders (if you work for any mental health company or charity in an official capacity you have to read this and stick to it religiously as their messaging needs to be incredibly careful, because you know, they don’t want to endanger people)
It’s interesting, going to cite some examples of things they advise.
“Please avoid: Using images of emancipation, empty plates, scales, measuring tapes, or any other stereotypical image representing mental illness. Eg, photos of people with eating disorders at their lowest weight”
“List where readers/viewers can get help. Eg, Contact BEAT on ….”
“Social media is unlikely to be the sole and direct cause of eating disorders, although for some people certain social media content can be an exacerbating factor”
“Someone’s weight, or how much they lost or gained, is not relevant to raising awareness or understanding. Eating disorders are about so much more than weight”

By the way, that’s on the first 5 pages of a 16 page document. That takes 2 minutes to access. And is free.

There’s no excuse for her to carry on like this, it’s frightening to think of what this might be doing for her followers

Big article in The Times today. Basically Alex admitting it’s always been about the money

Tell us something we didn't already know! She has cashed in mercilessly on her vulnerable following and find it hilarious that she's turned down deals but happily took the exercise mirror and happily advertised it all through January when she knew people would be having body confidence issues post Christmas.

Let's call her what she is.. She's a calculated manipulative self serving sales person who is happily cashing in under the guise of being body positive.

wow. so i was scrolling back thru some of Alex's older posts to try and work out what degree she studied - it was truly bizarre to discover that an individual who labels themselves as a "body confident and anti-diet" influencer would have an account still filled with such fatphobic posts, with Alex using the 🐷 emotion in relation to her eating a bigger meal or in reference to gaining weight, and using 🤮 😷 emojis in reference to becoming "fat" and expressing her obvious disgust at weight gain etc, and describing gaining weight as "the worst".

and sure, i get that she struggled with an. eating disorder and those kind of thoughts, but it seems weird that she still has them proudly displayed on her grid, and hasn't bothered to archive them, if not actually deleted them from her grid. it's hardly helpful to have such body-shaming, fatphobic content and language on her grid, when it could be incredibly triggering and/or hurtful to people who follow her for her body confidence content. just seems incredibly hypocritical to label yourself as body confident and constantly state that diet culture is toxic, when your own account is littered with such toxic bullshit. if her opinions have changed, why is her account still laced with fatphobia and implications th kat being fat and gaining weight is equivalent to being a pig etc?

and ofc she hasn't deleted the reams of photos of herself at a lower weight, posing for #ootd photos with the focus on her thigh gap, sucking in her stomach etc, because her main priority is still proving to people that she used to be at a lower weight.

She is the worst kind of influencer and the reason Tattle exists - because unless you agree with her and align with her views, you have no place on her feed and no opportunity to engage in a coherent, logical counter argument to some of her claims / statements. I speak as someone who has had body issues in the past and was fully immersed in diet culture, all through my teens and 20s. It’s gone too far IMO and the answer is somewhere in the middle of two extremes (Alex being very much at one end). There is no acknowledgment of this and it is damaging.

So if she's aware that the mirror selfies are misleading why has she continued to post so many of them ?
I'm genuinely struggling to understand the point to her anymore ...apart from her page now being a sales page the message that once was soo powerful and necessary is now lost in a sea of self promotion. Even the picture of her today in her current story, about misleading pictures, she's blatantly promoting her clothing line..

i missed the stories that she deleted earlier, but this explanation doesn't justify her being irrationally angry at people who took the time to reply to her question and share their experiences. she says she was asking for reassurance, which may have been what she was hoping for, but her question actually asked people to respond with their own experiences of prozac withdrawal and specifically clarifying if they experienced such tiredness and how long the exhaustion she is currently experiencing lasted. she didn't ask for "reassuring" responses only - yet she doesn't understand why people would reply to her sharing their own experiences and explaining that the feeling of exhaustion lasted for years etc. BECAUSE YOU FUCKING ASKED, ALEX! 🤦🏻‍♀️

her followers can't read her mind, fss. she was freaked out by the responses she received, because she only asked expecting people would tell her to hang in there and that it would only last a few more days and respond with supportive messages filled with encouragement and reassurance - yet that's literally not what she asked. she didn't ask people send messages that would make her feel more positive or make her feel better - it's not about expecting other people to be just like her and only ever send positive replies, it's HER error in that she asked for people's experiences and they were open and honest and didn't pander to her and full her inbox with soothing lies!

it ois her fault. but the real issue is not that she wasn't prepared for "bad" answers - which would imply she's totally delusional in that she thinks medication withdrawal should only be talked about if it goes smoothly and other people should keep their negative experiences to themselves - but that she fully expects people to feel as comfortable being dishonest as she has proved she does, randomly fabricating bullshit stories as it suits her. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Her and Em Clarkson are officially the most self absorbed, entitled, divas on the internet.

So full of their own self importance dressed up as being ‘self deprecating’

Alex doesn’t have real management …🤣 Alex just doesn’t have anything better to do than trawl through her thread on here.
Perhaps she might need to address that - that won’t be helping her current state of mind. Everybody is right, “influencers” want this limelight of adoration but they are so naive to believe that everyone will like them/share their opinions and beliefs.
I too, used to really like her, it was a friend that introduced me to her platform but she’s just changed so much.
Someone mentioned defensiveness - I guess there must be a large part of these influencers that feel imposter syndrome, I mean they hardly work hard for their money, but with that, they must also feel (like us) that the bubble will have to burst at some point, or they are just so worried about being cancelled.
I don’t know if that makes any sense - I think I’m just really pissed off at her message back - patronising bitch

Rant over lol
