Does anyone know how much red lentils are in lidl? It annoys me they don't put their prices on their website!

I'm on a real budget and my nearest supermarket is...waitrose

I was going to do some Turkish lentil soup this week, as well as Borscht. I love both of them! Can't stimp on sumac or beetroot so that's waitrose but I have aleppo chilli in.

I had a look on the trolly app, have you got a sainsburys near you, that seems to be the best price.

Whoever was asking about weed burners, I’ve just seen an electric one listed on Aldi app in special buys and you can search for stock availability in your area

I’ve just been up and down the aisles of my local one, but there wasn’t any. The app says there’s limited availability, though.

They are not bad. Just make sure you pay attention where you are pointing the flame so you don’t set your fence on fire like I definitely didn’t

Oww sorry. I don’t know what the accuracy of the stock checker is like, how fast it updates with sales and such. admittedly I have only used it to check the stock of one thing before now and I got it, so my experience is limited. Did you ask if there was any in the stock room?

Word of warning about bringing this weeks Aldi leaflet home, they are selling a projector and inflatable movie screen which OH is already eyeing up for football .

Italian week looks amazing though. Beef shin ragu .

Lidl has now introduced that stupid new system here as well UK tattlers, you've had it for a while now already, what's your verdict so far? As bad as expected? Worse? Surprisingly better?

I've taken the app off my phone phone stopped shopping there. They now have a tiered pricing structure so you only get cheaper prices if you use the app. Fork that!

Haven't been since the upgrade and have chosen to visit Aldi, despite being near a fairly big Lidl. (By London standards).

Our Lidl has closed for 19 months for a refurb, there’s another one 10 minutes away but without the amazing loyalty scheme im not really using it, and when I have been (twice) I’ve not bothered scamming the app as there’s no point

I was very very sceptical but it’s actually been ok. Yes I miss my free pastry after a tenner spend but I’ve had a freebie added to my account almost every week (any bakery item, cleaning product, £5 off over £50 spend and then today they’ve added free nuts). Because of the points offers they’ve been running (double points on fruit, then 200 extra points for £30 spend for the bank holiday weekend and now 5x points on veg), my points are quickly stacking up. I’m going to save them until I get to a £15 voucher which feels to me better than a free item that I wouldn’t have chose

There are a few Lidl-specific things I prefer, but since the rewards change I’ve swapped Lidl to top-ups and Aldi for main. Lidl is a drive so I’ll pop in en route somewhere else, whereas Aldi is closer (walkable even) and cleaner. I’m happy to let the app points burble along in the background until they become something useful.
