Delia Smith's recipe is less bready and more melt in the mouth. Can also be frozen and are just as good when unearthed from the freezer a year later.
Might be the buttermilk in it that does it.
I've made Hugh Fearnley-Whittenhairspunky's scones too and they're very nice, Made with double cream rather than buttermilk.

I work in another supermarket and I see so many kids rubbing their hands on food in the hot counter display to warm their hands (parents are next to them not minding) or fondling the loose fruit and veg. Ive seen the odd fly on our Lidl bakery shelves but thats to be expected with uncovered foods. It does make you think twice about buying loose uncovered things in shops.

I think you can make clotted cream at home if you are curious / dedicated / time rich. The canny Cornish dairy farmer we used to stay with when I was a kiddy made his own clotted cream in the oven, to flog to the grockles (us). Proper crusty top but frankly tasted like cowshed. Too close to the source
Make sure the butter is a little soft as it tends to pull the scones apart if it is hard. Know from experience.
I’m not a fan of Aldi and Lidl flavoured gins. I’ve had the blossom one and it wasn’t for me. The flavours are too strident.
I prefer to take a cheap bottle and add my own fruit and a bit of sugar to it and leave it to macerate for a few weeks.

Some of my favourite Gin is from Lidl. The rhubarb & ginger one is divine and I have missed seeing it in store. I've also tried a few other flavours and they've been decent so I'd say go for it.
We had the mixed grill at the weekend and it was very underwhelming
We had Chicken Rogan Josh and Lamb Dhansak. Much better than other supermarket offers. The Mixed grill was a disappointment wouldn’t get it again. Naan’s and poppadoms were good.
Naans, lamb samosas, onion bargees, paneer side , chicken tikka curry . All very nice but l agree not as good as last year.
They were all half price in our local Aldi. I think the Bom Bahia range in Asda is equally as good although they seem to have stopped doing the Black Lentil Dhal which was amazing. One of the food bloggers on Youtube (Who introduced me to Bon Bahia) did a blog a few days ago and said the Iceland Luxury Red Thai curry was the best he had ever had
