Aldi & Lidl #9

I don't know much about scan and go so - where do you pay or does it take it from your phone. When I go to M & S I use the scanning gun thing and put my shopping in my bag but still have to go to the self serve queue to pay. It is quicker to pay when I get there but some days I have to wait ages to get to the till. Then you can bet I will be the one they pick for the spot check.
Sainsbury's also do the scanning guns, or you can do it on your phone. You still go to the tills to pay though if you do use your phone

Not my photo but I bought the top left one. Oh my word, what a lovely treat. It's a big bar, 200g, and was £2.89, I think, yet would happily recommend. Good thickness of chocolate on it, delicious filling and just enough sweetness without being overwhelmingly so.

Just bought 8 balls of yarn in the middle aisle despite having had a sack of yarn delivered this week - ah well could be drugs

I saw them and dragged myself away. I've only just rehabbed myself from the pretzel chocolate someone recommended on Tattle, to risk anything else!

So as another pretzel chocolate afficionado, I should definitely not recommend this to you...

If Cadburys hadn't gone down the bleeper, these things wouldn't have ever crossed my path so blame them.
I talk myself out of chocolate now by looking at the ingredients.
This bar would definitely be out for me, as my specialist said "no sunflower oil, you have too much inflammation!"
I was shocked at the time to see how much I'd been swilling down myself including other seed oils. It was even in the milk I bought!
Now I've noticed they're replacing good fats with palm large to save money. 😥
Also if I'm ramming it in like I'm on my last five minutes I know it's not good, but made deliberately addictive.😏

People are saying Quality Street was rank this year.
I was at family's at Christmas and they seemed to have every tin - Heroes etc.
I had a quick squint at the ingredients which weren't good and swerved them when I was offered one. 😁

Some years back I was warned off hydrogenated vegetable oil, which turned out to be in everything for cheapness.
They told me to picture the TV advert for smoking, where large was slopping out of the cigarettes, and said that will be your arteries. 😲
A few years later it became a national scandal.😏
Every time I saw this person they were warning us off stuff, which later became national scandals.
Naturally I warned everyone I knew, and some thought I was making it up, until it became a national scandal. 🙄

Concept Dairy on Instagram are very hot on the palm oil issue as well. Over the festive period, they had a lot of alternatives for the rank chocolate "tins" and oddly enough, Toblerone came up as an alternative to the pap ones.

Just back from Aldi and picked up the leaflet, it says that it is American week from this Thursday, 22nd, here in Ireland.
The breakfast cereals look intriguing, there's a blueberry pancake flavour cereal and a salted caramel granola, for example.
I bought a bottle of Chapter and Verse Chardonnay, it's in a flat plastic bottle 😲 so I bought it out of sheer curiosity, plus I do like a Chardonnay 😅
Has anyone tried it?

Absolutely, I bought the Atlantique today and the minute the sun comes out I’ll be getting stuck in.

The Banoffee blondie is rank. If you want a sugar hit, then you'll get it but if you want it to taste of banoffee don't bother.

As someone who's very flaky about committing to anything vegetarianism, I will say Aldi make it a bit easier. Their new mushroom tart, with Camembert, is delicious and goes in the air fryer without issue. 8/10 for sure.

Had Aldi SS triple chocolate cookie slices for dessert this evening - from the cake section near the breads etc - sooo disappointing and absolutely not worth 400cals!!! 😥
