Same in UK. Got some of the Christmas mayos to try for 9p!! The wagyu dripping hasn’t gone down yet but did last year. The bomb puddings are also down to 29p.
Also got a few bits for the dog that were reduced too.
We still had 2024 Wagyu dripping in November when it came back in store we bought that much 😂

I made celery, mushroom, courgette, red cabbage and sprouts soup with leftovers over Christmas. It was surprisingly nice! 😁
I've bought more in to make another batch. 😋
I've just noticed in Aldi's brochure they're bringing out a new Health Nutrition Range, but they're obviously not as daring as me as their soup only has broccoli, pea and kale in it.😁

I have got used to my Christmas left overs soup and do the same as you. Super six veg will be my next experiment. Went to Lidl for the first time in ages yesterday and was happy to find they have installed self serve, making it easier for me to catch my bus instead of having to wait half an hour if I have to wait at the belts.

Wish they'd install it in mine......

ETA. I was telling a relative they should make their own soup. You can make vats of it and it doesn't have cornflour in like the tinned stuff.
They proceeded to ignore me and buy 20 cans of soup.
I notice they "force down" loads of my home made soup when they're round my house though! 🙄🙄🙄

My daughter had the chicken and bean soup from that range and said it was nice

I know you can get flavoured cream cheese, but do either Aldi or Lidl do a Boursin dupe? My teenager has discovered it stirred into pasta, and the real stuff is costing me a fortune!
Not A or L but I picked Boursin up today in Home Bargains for £1.79

Sad face from me as I can't drink until after I have my blood tests in 3 months and if I have it in the house I would drink it. 😭
Do they always have the security tags on wine - we have it on Vodka etc but not wine.
Oh no, I'm so sorry 😭

It may just be the branch. Spirits and liqueurs are in those cabinets you have to press a bell for. Shoplifters are rife around the area.

New specials on Lidl bakery seem quite good! Banoffee slice, tested and recommended. Pizza pretzels, bought but not yet tested.

M and S is quite near to Aldi and they seem to do a lot of it in there. I watch a young lad pinch 2 ltr bottles of vodka in marks and the assistant said they were not allowed to approach them. Last week in Aldi I saw a kid pinch some Haribo type sweets and 2 quite big staff members were onto him straight away as if he had pinched vodka.

I’ve a relative who works for Aldi and they say the theft is at a record high. They are told not to approach as you never know if someone has a weapon on them but they say they also can’t help when they see people visibly steal to approach and try to stop them

We were in a nearby Aldi a year or so ago (not our usual one) and someone nicked something and it was like a scene out of a Tom Cruise movie, vaulting over tills and rugby tacking the offender in the car park.

I've just read on Reddit that Lidl is going to start doing scan and go on the app this year. Winner.

I’ve never seen any robbing in Aldi but there is always drama in my nearest Lidl and staff do chase.

I nearly got knocked over by some young lads a couple of years ago pinching from b&m. They ran through the check out and the young girls (staff!) tried to stop them.

Sadly both my Aldi and Heron Food shops deem it necessary to have security guards on the door at all times due to shoplifting and antisocial behaviour.

I don't know much about scan and go so - where do you pay or does it take it from your phone. When I go to M & S I use the scanning gun thing and put my shopping in my bag but still have to go to the self serve queue to pay. It is quicker to pay when I get there but some days I have to wait ages to get to the till. Then you can bet I will be the one they pick for the spot check.
