Shout out to the MVP Mr Duck who got the last tiramisu trifle on the shelf 🎉

Are we going to open it today? Obviously - what if it's terrible and ruins our Christmas? Best to it test now 🤣

Update on the tiramisu trifle:
If you live in NW London, don't bother buying this. It is definitely terrible and you should avoid it at all costs, but also please post which store you saw it at, and Mr Duck and I will remove it for you... 🤣🤣

I will be very surprised if the one in our fridge lasts to Christmas Eve 😅

W Bridgeford is about 10 minutes from me. Please tell me you’re a Forest fan 🤣
OK - yes we are - we were at both European cup finals and the rounds. The Tricky Tree Fanzine belonged to people I know and know lots of gossip about the forest players in those days which I would never reveal. :) :)
West Bridgford === no e in middle.

Thank you to the tattler who recommended the Aldi liebfraumilch, it's nice and not too sweet, very quaffable!
The Aldi aromatic duck crisps are delicious, if you like crispy duck, you will enjoy them.

I can report great success at lunch yesterday with the Lidl Maris Pipers prepared with goose large. I find it hard to be shady but I styled it out and stuck to the story that I I prepared them 🫣

Three packs for 8 people was perfect. Heated goose large (it was a blob amongst the potatoes) to 220 on very big shallow baking tray, carefully placed each piece on tray, nice sizzle. Dropped temp to the recommended 180 for 40 minutes but then back up to 220 for last 20 mins.

I also got the brussels with maple bacon, I microwaved a minute less than recommended but finished in airfryer very high for 5 mins, a few burnt bits but they were most in demand! Thanks Tattlers!

Friend went to Aldi early this morning and there were queues of people waiting for empty trollies o_O
I went at 4.30, did my shopping, checked out at empty belt and was out at 10 to 5.
Got the champagne, thanks for the recommendation.

Has anybody used the Silvercrest robot vacuum cleaner with mop from Lidl please? They are on special offer at the moment and I am very tempted! Thank you!

You lot influenced me to make yet another pilgrimage to Ye Olde Aldi this morning for the tiramisu trifle.

My family are “allergic” (read: don’t like) coffee so that’s out of the question for us or I’d be there like a rat up a drainpipe clearing the shelves :cautious:

The one we got on Sunday has a use by date of the 31st, so it would last a while if you wanted it just for you :sneaky:

There is the tiniest bit left in the bowl in our fridge - I might go look for another when I go out for my last bits, but not holding out much hope! Aldi definitely need to bring this back!

The shelf was stuffed to the brim when I went about 9am so fingers crossed for you! I also got a passion fruit panna cotta - we have so many desserts to eat now, thank goodness the trifle is ok until the 31st.

I like the prosecco from Lidl’s, together with their “Bitterol” at £4.99 (like Aperol), makes nice spritzers but the prosecco is decent on its own, £4.99 but 30p off with Lidl’s Plus.

Any Aldi or Lidl Christmas highs or lows? We had a frozen turkey joint from Lidl (was only about £7 I think) and it was terrible. It's only my husband who has turkey so wasn't any point getting any bigger, he was very disappointed though. My passion fruit panna cotta from Aldi was also rubbish - really grainy.

I found a lot of the food this year was terrible compared to previous years. Especially the party food. We got our turkey in Tesco and cost less than 10€ and was so nice and juicy.
