Any Aldi or Lidl Christmas highs or lows? We had a frozen turkey joint from Lidl (was only about £7 I think) and it was terrible. It's only my husband who has turkey so wasn't any point getting any bigger, he was very disappointed though. My passion fruit panna cotta from Aldi was also rubbish - really grainy.
I love the Aldi prosecco, it’s £5.29 or something with a screw top! But had no complaints on Christmas Day from
The family! 🥂

I had some of this rose at a party and it’s lovely! - Chassaux Et Fils Atlantique Rose, Aldi £6.49. It’s a dupe for a more expensive wine, Whispering Angel, but sold out in a lot of places, am hoping it will reappear. It’s appeared in the press, if you do a search.

I've already mentioned this, but the tiramisu trifle from Aldi was delicious! I also accidently bought a vegan no-beef fillet from Aldi (my brain didn't see the "no" before the beef 🤣) that had a peppery crust to it that was actually quite nice

We had some Aldi paneer cheese bites (75% off!) on Christmas Eve which were lovely and a bit unusual.

On Christmas Day...Aldi goosefat potatoes were apparently the best my sons have had and both went back for seconds). Our meat was a turkey/ chicken joint which was nice, but despite saying it fed 6, we used about 3/4 of it for the 3 of us for dinner. Full price it was £25, so I'm glad I got it for 50% off 🤣

We bought some party bits beef wellingtons, mixed quiches, pork belly bites & scones with ham & cheese. Only that last item was edible the rest was absolutely dreadful

Funnily enough, the posh prawn toast, a different prawn starter selection, and three cheese broccoli were all very good. The butternut squash, mushroom and chestnut bake was also very delicious and I ate it all. If they brought that back as a permanent item, I'd be over the moon. All out of Aldi.

The Lidl potato dauphinois was rubbish though.

I bought the scones with ham and cheese and they were absolutely delicious 😋
So were the prawn selection starters and the pork and cranberry pork pies .
I bought the frozen festive Christmas dinner pies and they were lovely. All Aldi .
Our fresh turkey from Tesco was only £12 but it was definitely much nicer than the frozen turkey crown we bought from Aldi though.

The pork belly bites were vile, i was so disappointed as I’ve had the M&S ones which melt in your mouth and these were hard and chewy. I won’t be a chespskate next year!

Wel also had the lidl cheesecake filled chocolate trains - the white chocolate and lemon weren’t great the Belgium chocolate ones were lovely.

We got our Turkey in Aldi, it was a Specially Selected one, a crown topped with bacon. It was delicious, so tender. we had that plus a whole duck, and it did two full meals for three, a couple of sandwiches and the two of us finished it off with some bubble last night.

Ive been buying the Red Darling sprouts throughout December, I love sprouts but these are next level. I hope they’re in stock for a while longer.

Got three packs of salmon fillets with 50% off yesterday, but otherwise it was slim pickings, red sticker-wise.

The Aldi gingerbread man/snow flake mug hangers are a really nice quality, tasty biscuit. I expected so little of them at £1.49 for 16.

I popped to Aldi this morning to see if they had any of those delicious medjool dates left but they'd sold out. Bah!

Stocked up instead on several jumbo Pannetone for £1.99 each and those Santa Claws snack things I became addicted to earlier this month. They were giving away parsnips at the exit so snagged two bags of those too.

Do you have a local Lidl? I got our box from there, I’m guessing identical to Aldi’s and I think they were the same price
