Aldi & Lidl #9

Those are what I got in Aldi today, exactly the same contents but it says Ready, Set Cook on the label and an American flag. £1.49.
They have the Schwartz ones in Tesco for £2 but on offer at the moment with a card.
Tesco app says out of stock for the bagel one, and no longer available for the hot honey one.

Part from the obvious what exactly is bagel seasoning ?
Generally it is white & black sesame seeds, flaky salt, garlic & onion flakes. You can sprinkle it on anything savoury. Lovely on eggs, poke bowls, salads, cream cheese. The list is endless.

The seasoning reminds me a bit of a European take on furikake. But it's a bit more of a zhush for food rather than just a sprinkle of salt because of the different textures.

Yeah I was about to ask what is the thing with bagels needing this seasoning? I don't have bagels often enough to need a special seasoning.
I only ever eat cinnamon and raisin so probably don’t need it just being nosey😂

Just to clear up some confusion! It’s not seasoning for bagels! There’s a variety of bagel called an “everything bagel” that is seasoned with seeds, onion and garlic. This “everything but the bagel” seasoning is inspired by that. It’s not necessarily intended for use on bagels but anywhere that might benefit from that particular flavour profile

I visited Aldi and no sign of the pickle dip. Just its tag but maybe it'll be in the next delivery? This better not become the new frozen frickles though.

Did get the everything bagel seasoning and will compare to the M&S one in due course. However, there are two types they're stocking. One is black pepper and the other is a spicy version. Think it may be chili based?

Thank you! Now it makes sense.

Anyone for pickle?

You had me at pickle, until I read the large, saturates and salt content. They leaned too far into the american style with this pickle dip. Nearly 10grams of large, you're grand Aldi i'll pass.

Have you tried the Marks and Spencer's fiery pickle that those on that forum seem to be lusting after?

Who remembers the Nacho Chilli Cheese dip Aldi used to do. Someone on here recommended it. It was not something I would’ve chosen & it so good. I wish they would bring it back.
