The new system is rubbish.
The only reason I shopped in Lidl regularly was because of the rewards. I loved meeting the little targets through the month.
aldi is closer to me so can see me heading there more regularly now

Sorry to go off topic slightly but do you a recipe for your ginger shots? I stocked up on some bottles in Tesco recently as they were on clubcard price at more than half price of normal, I wouldnt pay full but have been considering making my own. thanks

Quite happy to tell you. Firstly I have a high powered blender which blends everything into liquid - Vitamix which I have had for many years but I think that Ninja do a good one.
I do a thin peel of the skin of a large lemon and a couple of oranges which goes into the blender then take off the pith and ditch it. Into the blender goes a big chopped up piece of ginger, the oranges and lemon along with a tsp of turmeric and some pepper and some water to make up 800 m;.. All done.
I have a silicone 100 ml portion box and put 8 in there and freeze take out one per day or put in a bottle in the fridge and have a drink each morning.
I started doing this as I don't want to pay £1 a day as it costs me about 20p but you can find ways of getting round their silly prices

We were in a nearby Aldi a year or so ago (not our usual one) and someone nicked something and it was like a scene out of a Tom Cruise movie, vaulting over tills and rugby tacking the offender in the car park.

Made a cockup in Aldi on Monday - bought chopped tomatoes with herbs instead of plain chopped tomatoes, didn't matter as I was making cottage pie but made me wonder what extras were in there. Nothing except for dried herbs but they were 69p instead of 49p. 20p for them to shove a few dried herbs in them. Won't make that mistake again.

I've just read on Reddit that they are changing the Lidl app, and getting rid of your free cake when you spend a tenner. Rumour has it that you need to spend £65 to get a free croissant.

Oh no - I love them but doing well on SW at the moment so just looked them up for syns/swips whatever. My favourite Goan Prawn is 17 so will have to carry on making my own.
Thanks for telling us as my neighbour loves them and stocks his freezer.

Read that as Gwan Prawn and thought, yeah, you go prawn! Be your beautiful self! Not even touched the bottle of Atlantique in the fridge door yet, so no excuses.

The German Lidl advent calendar seems to be a bit confused

So those are the "British" week offers. Irish cheese, Irish beef Random salmon (or is that very British?).
Might get the wine gums, those are nice. Apart from that, meh. They used to have crisps and other stuff as well. Very underwhelming.

YES! Those fricking massive pull-along baskets! Hate them too

I sometimes just take my bag and fill it up and then make sure to tip it fully out onto the conveyor so they can see I'm paying for everything.

I do this in Lidl to avoid those baskets, too. End up performatively displaying my woodland trust jute shopper like a third rate stage musician showing they have nothing up their sleeves.

I can't believe I lost this thread for nearly a month! I kept thinking something was missing from my watched threads list, but couldn't figure out what it was

I bought a few party food bits from Aldi today to put away for later in the month, but I'm just making dinner for myself today and cannot be bothered to make the pasta I was going to have, so I'm just going to stick some of those in the air fryer. The camembert bites and the sriracha breaded prawns are particularly calling my name!

I’m currently in America and curiosity got the better of me and I nipped into an Aldi I was passing. Grabbed these and I now need to go back and buy multiple to take home. Why don’t they do such deliciousness in the uk?!?!

and yes the assistant said, "we do take customers down to the floor and there is a bit of a pile on if they've been shoplifting."
They went on to say "this is a small business and we have to protect it!"

As someone who's very flaky about committing to anything vegetarianism, I will say Aldi make it a bit easier. Their new mushroom tart, with Camembert, is delicious and goes in the air fryer without issue. 8/10 for sure.
