I Missed my friends text earlier asking me if I fancied an aldi trip this afternoon. sad about that but she did take me last week, and I’d already been to the nearby Lidl. Also going to Costco on Wednesday so would need a new freezer if I had gone to Aldi.
I got the caramel Suisse but only because of the evening discount. It's okay but not the greatest thing I've ever tried from the Lidl bakery. Very one note and sweet.
I could go to a supermarket every single day. There's always something I need (more accurately: want). And I just love greedily looking round the shelves.
A foreign supermarket is always right up there with things to do on holiday, along with art galleries and eating and drinking the local nice things.
I felt the same.
i should’ve taken the advice I gave to my child to air fry it for a few minutes. I think that would have given life to it but really it was sweet noth8ngness.
Even salted caramel would've been an improvement, if only to break up the sweetness. Don't get me wrong, I still ate it but here's hoping it isn't a returning product.
I've literally just bought the caramel suisse thing and it's disappointing, I bought 2, ate 1 and am seriously considering binning the other one.
No School cake. I saw it a couple of weeks ago but it didn't appeal to me.
I’ll eat presty much anything sweet and I had a few bites of the caramel suisse and threw it away. The school cake is ok, nothing special. Didn’t taste like school cake, just bit artificial sweet I think.
I have the pistachio spread. Mr NotMeReally secured it, but I don’t want to use it, as like many of you I was pistachio before this dubai chocolate fad
Yeah, it does look pretty anaemic in the picture I posted.
It's times like that I'm glad I don't have any allergies or strong dislikes about food! It's always a fun game of 'what is this based on the picture'...then hoping tea is edible!
My local Asda has a couple of well stocked world food aisles if you're looking for something different! (Some things like chocolate seemed cheaper if you're not brand fussy...)

I love coming back from hols with foreign herbs, choc bars and biscuits lining my suitcase.
My bestie and I broke off from our big holiday group recently to go to the supermarket. We spent hours in there oohing and aahing over all the lovely produce.
I was in Gran Canaria last year with my partner and our children. Told him I wanted to go Dinos and didn’t tell him what it was. When we turned up he was like “babe it’s a supermarket?” Yessss and?
