Whoever recommended the cherry Bakewell Jaffa cakes thank you!! They are amazing...

Best instant coffee from Aldi/Lidl/Tesco?

I need a break from the long winded coffee machine malarky :D

I have the Aldi cheapo one in the jar with the gold lid. Assume it’s a gold blend dupe. I like and actually prefer cheap instant coffee though… you can keep all your fancy bean stuff 🤣 so probably not the right person to answer!

Can anyone recommend a decaf instant from Aldi or Lidl? Tesco seem to have discontinued my favourite 😫

There were 2 packs of the macarons left in Aldi and as much as I wanted to buy both so I could have one today and another when I wasn't sick and my tastebuds were back at 100%, I left the other one for someone else 🤣

I also picked up the camembert & red pepper bread heart thing, which looks good, but there's so much bread for a 2 person starter! We're probably not going to have it tonight, because I'm making pasta and Mr Duck is on call tonight, so carb induced food comas are a no go unfortunately!

My Aldi has started stocking the cherry bakewell jaffas! I look every time I'm in there and there's usually not even a label on the shelf for them, but today there were loads! I bought one box, which I'm probably going to regret next week when they dissappear 😅

I don't know if this has been mentioned (recently!) but the Lidl jelly beans are amazing! Currently got a small bowl of nuts and jelly beans to snack on...

I'm the exact same as you except I have nae brand loyalty. Whichever supermarket I'm next in when I run out, that's where I buy my knock-off Gold blend 🤭
Drank the Lidl version for years and thought it was decent for the price, though they're all much of a muchness - but depends how much of a coffee connoisseur you are @sevcive 😅

I miss the days when I could drink the basic stuff. The days before I was corrupted by hipsters.

I like the Asda one. I think I get the decaffeinated version. 🤔

I was a coffee hipster before it was cool, actually 😎

No, seriously, I've always hated instant coffee and refuse to drink it. A mediocre tea is preferable to bad coffee.

I have spoilt myself by having a proper coffee machine so now can’t drink instant. My husband has no such quality control and I’m quite jealous really.

Similarly the first time I got a work bonus, I bought an amazing mattress. This means that hotel beds can be a disappointment.

I struggle on.

I think Mr Duck feels similar about me 😅 I cannot taste the difference between basic range instant coffee or freshly ground higher quality beans at all. It all tastes the same to me.

Might have something to do with him drinking black coffee and according to him, I drink "coffee flavoured milk"? 🤣

Not even a hint of a sign of frickles in the Finchley Road one so balls to Aldi. Four branches and nowt? You're taking the piss.

I still spent a bit of money but I'm underwhelmed by how they're running their London shops 😒
