Well Lidl have totally alienated me this Christmas. I don’t regularly shop there but lots of things in their Xmas leaflet tempted me so I went out of my way to get try and get them. all bar one thing hasn’t been stocked or was sold out on the day it was supposed to be in store. I don’t know why I even bothered to try and get the Xmas chocolate train pudding yesterday. I ended up buying a festive pie and the label said £4.99 but I’ve just checked my receipt and it was £9.99. Naffed off
I couldn’t find the chocolate train either

I can't find the pistachio one. I got the hazelnut ones from both Aldi and Lidl but the pistachio seems to get snapped up here. Shame, as I adore anything pistachio.
I've got a pistachio one from Lidl from the previous drop. Not in your face taste wise so I'm not addicted like the Tattlers who recommended it. So maybe the hazelnut one is the "crack" version. 🤔

Regarding wine at Lidl and Aldi.

If you go elsewhere, such as ASDA, Tesco and Sainsbury's, the cheapest bottles of wine are now around £6 a bottle. They have one, or two priced below that, however it is not much of a selection and really is bottom of the barrel stuff.

If you go to Aldi and Lidl, you find plenty of different wines for under £6 a bottle. I've tried a fair few amd don't think they are bad at all.

The Chilean Pinot Noir in Lidl, for £4.29 a bottle isn't bad.
I remember when £6 was a fancy bottle! 😂

I did my shopping in Aldi earlier, and bought six bottles of wine because I have a habit of popping to Tesco express and buying something from their limited offering which can be £11 for something decent. I got six bottles in Aldi, I think the most expensive was just under a tenner and a couple of bottles were under a fiver. You know for £10 from Aldi you're getting something half decent.

I'm on this white at the moment while my fella (who only drinks red) is away, and it's really nice. Well worth £7.50. Tastes a touch sweeter and less acidic than I'm used to, and has a bit more depth.

probably a stupid question but when specialbuys have the delayed tag on them in the Aldi leaflet, do they say when it's in store anywhere? or do I just go in more often to check 😅

Just a heads up in Aldi, that the handbag perfumes are coming in on Sunday, one is supposed to be a Black Opium dupe the other Caroline Herra, l think. And a few moisturizers, for under eye and face
Also they are launching a new eyelash growth serum that's supposed to be a dupe of Rapid Lash, will be interesting to see how that goes. I've loved the LiLash serum for years but it's pricey at over 100 quid.

Also love their salted Caramel Yoghurts, delicious 😋
Do you know the names Aldi use for the perfumes ?

Could only see the rose oil unfortunately
The rose oil gets good reviews online and is on sale in the Irish Aldis this Sunday.
Has anyone used it and what did you think? I was thinking of going on Sunday to get a bottle.

That'll explain why my mum loves them then. I love almonds but hate marzipan. Apparently that's weird but whatever.

Got a couple of the Aldi premixed cocktails cans, a la Moth, so will report back to the class. Went with the margarita version because I never learn about tequila 🫠
---
The infusionist margarita "style" is a no from me. Agave spirit isn't the same flavour profile as tequila, even if similar, so if you're after a budget Moth can, this ain't it.
Pls do report back on the cocktails. I'm probably going to get the espresso martini one next week

The Aldi Cocktail tins are one of the worst things I've ever tried, the mojito tasted like cheap, fizzy mouthwash and it ended up in the same place, down the bathroom sink plughole.
These are new ones though

If this was already mentioned I apologise but Aldi have dropped their Christmas veg price to 8 pence, Asda too. Not sure about others. We are off to Aldi for 7am this morning. Send thoughts and prayers 🙏 😂
I knew about Asda but I'd already gone to Sainsbury's where it was 15p.

I went in this afternoon for the first time in almost a week (as I now live on my own and don't need to shop so often) and ok it is change over day for Super 6 etc tomorrow but I needed porridge to do my brekkies for a few days but the lack of food in the fridges was awful. Not much choice of fresh fish, only 1 low fat hummus and I wanted 2, had to scrabble down in the fridge at the back to find veg frittatas, no coriander and lime rice and found out they have stopped the dupe of Ryvita after all these years. Neighbour wanted thin cut steak and had to go across the road to Asda to get them for her, but the worst was they had no Beachfront White Zinfandel, it might be cheap but I really like it. Don't know what the 1 I bought is like, will see later. Really not impressed with them today.
I've heard reports of Tesco having the same problems on another thread.

Re shortages, has anyone else noticed a lack of salami/ pepperoni in their local shops?

Neither of our local Lidls have had German salami for weeks, just Italian (which I don't like 🤣) I've looked in Tesco as well and they only had the fancy Italian stuff . Feel like I've missed a memo - I just want the cheap £1 a pack stuff 😂
Yep! Me! Very annoying

My local Lidl is out of the Madagascan dark chocolate which, in case anyone doesn’t know, is the absolute Rolls Royce of dark choc. This disaster has never happened before.

Some chef mentioned it in a Times article a few weeks ago and I was sad the carpet was out of the bag. I wonder if it’s also to do with chocolate prices going up.

Tragedy, quite honestly. I made a special journey to Lidl just for that.
Can this be eaten on its own or just for baking? Trying to find a dark choc that tastes good
