I got some absolute bargains in my Aldi yesterday. They seem to reduce everything the day before the use by date, so I got two packs of two chicken breasts and a half peri peri chicken all with 50% off. I’ve put them in the freezer.

I nipped into my Lidl yesterday & it was a tit show ! All the chicken had yesterdays date or todays date (no yellow stickers but I won’t buy reduced meat from Lidl anyway - just my own preference) I picked up 6 or 7 pots of yoghurts which all had 2/3 days left. There was a guy removing stuff from the shelves to either reduce or throw and the trolley was overflowing. Seemed criminal to waste that much food.

Well Lidl have totally alienated me this Christmas. I don’t regularly shop there but lots of things in their Xmas leaflet tempted me so I went out of my way to get try and get them. all bar one thing hasn’t been stocked or was sold out on the day it was supposed to be in store. I don’t know why I even bothered to try and get the Xmas chocolate train pudding yesterday. I ended up buying a festive pie and the label said £4.99 but I’ve just checked my receipt and it was £9.99. Naffed off
To be honest I always find this, I went to 7 aldis earlier in the year for an item, not found but still on the website, and just before Christmas I went to two aldis and 2 lidls one of which was huge, for stuff advertised, found zero

Veganuary stock has hit our local Aldi. Very excited to try their Mars and Snickers dupe ice cream bars. Got the salt and pepper and Southern fried chicken strips. They're okay, bit chewy. All the roasting joints they had for Christmas have been repackaged so if you missed them before you may find them now.

I went to 3 lidls within a reasonable drive for the Christmas dessert train and not a whiff, I doubt it even existed!. We had the lidl garlic cheddar truckle last night and it was awful, dreadfully dry texture 😪. In better non lidl news mulled wine is reduced to 1.25 in sainsburys 🤫.

I didn't go to Lidl during the week before Christmas, but I must have gone on the 17th or 18th and my store only had a couple on the shelf then.

So branch 2 of Aldi visited in search of something on the website, unable to locate it in the store, asked member of staff, they have no idea if they sell it or where it would be 🙄 total waste of an hour and a half
