No need to apologise. This has gotten to me today too. I wish I could do more to help them.

Joe Biden has just got more US military killed in one day than have been in the past two years in Afghanistan.

More reports of explosions

The poor man looked so uneasy when that explosion went off. I do wonder what’s going to happen to the reporters in Kabul. The BBC have Lyse Doucet there, will they airlift her out? She won’t be safe after the deadline passes I wouldn’t have thought?

Very difficult watching a Biden press conference and seeing so many similarities to conversations I’ve had with my grandparents day care centre friends in the past.

thats not even me making a joke, that’s the sad bit. The only person who can be enjoying this is the idiot Trump.

They've all been forced to leave I think, sky's was before the explosions today and thinks he's being kicked out so they don't cover the messy last bits of the withdrawal

Not sure the American people have fully realised this yet. Apart from some helicopter shootdowns today was the deadliest for US troops of the entire war.

Sky are reporting that their main people were ordered out by the gov. Whether it’s because it was just too unsafe or because the more that’s reported the more risk is in the situation, i don’t know. I’m not expecting any journalists now to be reporting from there. These people need danger money. I hope the media companies will recognise this. I’d like to think they especially got the female journalists out ASAP, because isis-k will make the taliban seem like a champion for women’s rights.

Truly shocking. That man is ill. He should not be President of a Care Home activities club let alone the United states.

Sadly, tagging Biden won’t do anything. I don’t think we would especially agree on the pen situation, but as hard as this sounds (amd it’s not meant to be) the time for tagging mps, trying Biden, even saving those animals has gone. It went this afternoon. It’s time to hunker down amd do an almost suicide mission now, and good luck if you make it type operation. And shouting about how politicians need to do something won’t work- there’s nothing anyone can do now but just hope. That’s not meant to sound harsh, but once we got to lunchtime and that bomb threat came in, it was count down to this.

I remember some people saying that when Biden came to Cornwall, he wandered off in one direction, when he was supposed to go in the opposite direction and Jill had to go get him. I know that could be far fetched, but If true then it's a little odd. Who knows what is going on with him mentally, but surely his health and wellbeing is assessed on a regular basis, no?

I can’t believe that man could run for president. Wasn’t a trump fan (too much of a misogynist for my liking) but there has surely got to be a limit to what age you can do this job, especially when most would be retired. Age doesn’t always mean wisdom

I thought he had fallen asleep!!!
It was like watching an old guy in a care home. He's clearly ill.

WTF is happening when the best the USA could come up with was either him or Trump and the best the UK could come up with was either Boris or Corbyn/Starmer?

Where have all the great leaders gone???????? The fine men who said they will protect us and we will come to no harm under their watch?????

alway believed Harris was the puppet master behind the current administration and Biden was just there because he had the experience and support she lacked.

but where has she been lately. Have I just missed her?

in a way I do wonder how much of it is to do with him trying to control his stammer, would he seem more coherent if he didn’t have that issue.

or is that just used as an excuse to avoid having to address the fact he should be on a soft diet with rice pudding for dessert before the bingo kicks off.

She’s off touring Asia, Vietnam, Singapore etc , because you know, that’s a priority right now. Or damage limitation I guess.
If some countries are saying the Taliban have changed, Russia and China are working with them, it’s going to be a case of get all onside we can do…..

Are the US really threatening Isis-K?

I know it's not really ideal, but what else can they do other than just leave Afghanistan? Any fight against Isis-K will now be funding/helping the Taliban

I know she’s not a man but I reckon Tulsi Gabbard would have been a great choice. From what I saw of her she’s passionate about her country and has a sharp mind. The democrats chose the wrong contender for a second year running and only chose Biden because he was well known and moderate-ish so would appeal to Trump voters.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the US/western forces supported the Taliban in their fight against ISIS-K. The enemy of my enemy is my friend sort of thing.
