Wallace is a scumbag. May he rot in hell for the fate he's left those poor people to face.
Poor Pen's work has all been for nothing now thanks to that large creep and his chum Peter Quentin :( God damn them both

Feel like this is dangerous advice tbh. From what I understand, it's the Taliban who are controlling borders now and I don't think anyone knows how they may react to this? Plus, I imagine there are probably other Afghan nationals stuck at land borders

Also feel like the government is just going to ditch a lot of people if they do manage to get through a land border

Which bit is the making him a scumbag? We can’t discuss if we don’t know and I’m totally lost because you say about all the people resigned to their fate, and I would sort of agree. But the withdrawal thing, it’s not just him, it’s the US to start with and all other nations have been involved too. If it’s the general handling like the data breach etc, getting people out, then that also comes down to Dominic Raab as foreign sec. as embassy’s etc, are his remit, but they should have worked together- both are at fault.

But I’m assuming by pens work being for nothing, you might mean pen v Ben. it’s frankly ludicrous now that either side is dicking about still with this matter-this has become a game of chicken between them both and seems to be more about social media posturing then anything else. And it shouldn’t be still used as a stick to have a go from others because the matter is over now, it’ll be rehashed im sure in the media, in the inquiry etc. Let’s focus on getting people out now.
Either way, There’s a 1,000 plus people that we couldn’t save that are facing god knows what. Save your anger for them.

And my response is coming from anger that three Britons were affected in the blast yesterday, it’s just been released- there appears to be no anger about this on Twitter or anywhere, these are just faceless people. Someone’s child died, just a teenager. So apologies but I’m angry about that, a life cut short because no one could bollocking get tit together properly in a so called organised world and no one will probably care apart from maybe family friends and a school community.

They may be advising people to go to the border but the taliban are controlling check points and any afghans that get across (to one of the countries, can’t remember which) are being sent back.

According to the MOD Twitter, Pen and the animals are in Kabul airport waiting to go. His team are not with him, unfortunately.

Both Pakistan and Iran are sending them back. Not sure about Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. but up the north east is China. No ones getting in there are they…..

but all’s well that ends well with Pen. hopefully the others that were left at the airport will be ok whilst we beg and plead and ‘move heaven and earth’ for them to get out- as said by our ‘twisted government’ 😒. Now we need to be foot stamping and tweeting abuse at the gov to get them out. And maybe I’m a bit bitter but thats not going to happen is it….. I doubt some people on here calling for their heads yesterday will be doing it today anyway

There is a guy I’m following on Twitter and he said Pakistan were firing at afghans trying to get out and a number were killed. How awful 😞 I think it was Uzbekistan I read about sending people back so basically nobody has a chance!

I’ve never said that I don’t think animals are worth it. I’ve just fed my pet for whats it’s worth, if it helps prove I’m not heartless. And I get the value that the animals had for soldiers
but what I am saying is that we need to now make a fuss about the people left behind. The British cabbie who was stuck at the gates. The interpreters bleeping hiding after translating for the soldiers- the same translators who probably translated for pen farthing until he could speak some of the language!
but now he is out all the people who have been hurling abuse on Twitter will move on, who gives a crap about the brown people now the ex marine is out, our boy is safe pull up the ladder and all that….. and that makes me so angry, why should one life matter more than the rest?

It’s shocking. But they are all making alliances with the Taliban, Pakistan are saying give them a chance, China is making mining contracts. So they are not going to help them; Afghanistan has about a trillion dollars in mineral reserves to make a mint from

It’s so awful what has been happening, I feel so awful for everyone who is stuck there who doesn’t want to be ruled by the Taliban. Not just in Kabul but all the other areas of Afghanistan, the rural areas and villages. The women and girls who will suffer and the boys who will be turned into child soldiers. I fear what is going to happen to those people in the coming weeks and months and years. I worry about new terror groups forming, people who have been badly let down by the west and left to live a life under Taliban rule.

The government were always going to get Pen out. They had to get him out because if they hadn’t and he had been sought out by the Taliban and executed, it would have been a disaster for the government. They don’t care about the team left behind because people will quickly forget about them(unfortunately).

Can’t imagine that British citizens will be getting any priority if they get to the borders - assuming they even can. Apparently a few have decided to stay willingly but there’s also some who have are sadly being left behind

Yeh and then they will be made examples of by the taliban/isis as it is guaranteed media coverage. I cannot begin to imagine how scared they must be

He has all 170 pets
Hopefully it also means that the American rescue has had some luck with finding a plane and getting some of their animals out.
Very sad for the staff though and I imagine they’re in increased danger due to media presence around this

Has anyone seen this?

Well, that just sounds like a great plan doesn’t it. Kind of like the invite to visit the empty creepy house on Halloween…. I’d be sending them in first, one or the other will probably have set the place up.

As for the staff of these rescues they will be terrified because they have had a bloody target stuck on their backs due to all of this. Again, another reason why all this fuss wasn’t good for anyone. And don’t think for one minute the talibam won’t use this- they might not kill the staff but they will use what’s happened to stir up trouble. All the people outside the airport will know exactly who these teams were and that their bosses wanted a safe passage for them whilst they stood in tit in the sewerage…. what great recruitment material for them and isis. . And if anyone can read English, all the stuff on the english/American media will be read out, twisted of course to help the cause along.

Can't wait to see who will play him in the inevitable movie of his Flight To Freedom.

I doubt that we've heard the last of him.

Shame about the thousands that weren't able to get their voices heard so publicly and who are still just being left behind with nobody much caring.
