The new m and s xmas advert the biggest load of woke bull I've ever seen shame on hannah Waddingham and Sophie Ellis bexter for appearing in it
M and s you can shove your "thismas" up your a I will be happly celebrating "christmas" like we have done for the past 2000 odd years
I don’t think they’re saying you should be calling Christmas “ThisMas”. They are saying celebrate Christmas your way not the way everyone else tells you to. Do it ‘this’ way rather than ‘that’ way.

Anyhow I don’t think much of the advert anyway but for some reason (this is not aimed at you) some people have really taken against this and getting angry about it and it only made its debut on 1st November

I don't see how an advert telling people to do Christmas their way, whatever that may be, is woke.

And that article with someone whining about the advert missing the spirit/meaning of Christmas as a Christian tradition. This is a bleeping advert, by it's very nature it is not respecting Christian traditions, it's respecting capitalist and commercialist traditions of spending money on tit you don't need at Christmas.

If a brand did a Nativity or something like that as their Christmas ad, those same people would whine about brands trying to monetise religion and what not. Can't please some people.

Thanks for the link.It made interesting reading!

As I'm on a TV advert viewing embargo it's challenging to comment coherently. I thought they were chucking "real" Elfs off the roof. Not dolls. I'll admit to being a bit dissappointed now. Sorry Elf lovers.

Instead of watching ads from now on I'm just going to make them up in my head instead. That way they're doable.

The Aldi or lidl (can’t remember which) one that i’ve had on every youtube video this week, singing an annoying tune  It had purple background and song lyrics on it. Arrrrgh

The GHD advert, that I see on YouTube constantly… sort of pink and green? What I hate is the woman’s groan, it sounds so manufactured to sound sexy, but also if she’s in pain? Why … what’s the message here, curl your hair with these and you’ll meet someone who’s going to be mean in bed, but I like it cos he’s a bad boy? Maybe I’m over-analysing it, but care has been taken to make that moan sound the way it does.

The Rana pasta one. Mostly because WTF is going on?

Also, the song on the Lidl advert is bloody awful.

Currys seem to be on a roll at the moment - for producing a series of crap adverts. The latest one has a font, in the middle of one of their stores. It is meant to represent the font of all knowledge! These adverts don't work on any level.
Having said that, the adverts might be effective in one way, after having seen one, you want to throw something at the television. Hence people popping down to their local Currys, to replace their broken TV sets!

More realistic adverts for Currys would be a bored middle aged couple going in, talking to a bored, disinterested Saturday kid about a new Dyson or fridge freezer and picking out one they fancy to have said kid say - gotta order that one into store, takes between 4-7 days.

Even for a bleeping dyson or a bloody kettle or toaster - what the duck do they have out in the store warehouses now - just air!

Our local Currys depot is a mere 10 minutes away - thats where everything gets sent into local stores from - can I go and pick it up, can I buggery, even though I'm well aware of where it is and know several guys who work there.

They will go the way of Comet in the next few years.
