TBH I think the “ordinary London girl” thing is a bit of an act too, which she cynically pulls out of the bag every so often when she thinks it might be helpful. Let’s face it, she went to a highly competitive performing arts school and was launched when she was still a teenager, which likely means she was on a development contract years before that. She’s spent most of her life being coddled and fawned over by music industry suits. That is very far from an ordinary life. She’s spoilt.

I’ve never liked Adele, I cannot pinpoint why, I think her singing voice is whiny and her songs deathly dull and I’ve never understood the adulation of her at all. I never tell anyone IRL as everyone seems to love her?! But further to that, I find her obnoxiously smug. She clearly thinks she looks amazing (and she does look nice, but let’s face it it’s all bought and paid for), and just the bestest of the best. I think her ‘engagement’ is as real as her cheekbones and she now plays at fame, plays the media and plays her fans.

That engagement ( if real, and not to wind the media up and take the attention off her recent behaviour ) is worrying. As I said in an earlier post, if they are having big enough arguments to drive her to tears and cancel her Vegas residency, then that big old rock is just a pointless deflection, and not real in anyones eyes.
I know they are both independently wealthy and famous in their own right, but they should not be having huge bust ups at this early stage in the relationship, especially if it has longevity.

One thing I liked about Adele was that she didn’t try and create a relationship with the fans & wasn’t interested in engaging with them. Because there’s very few artists that can pull off that “friendship” with fans. Now since she’s on the new record label they’ve got that Adele Access account (ie like Taylor Nation), she’s putting clues in her IG captions, inviting fans to things and talking to them. It just seems quite inauthentic when everyone knows she’ll have another 6 year break and won’t talk to them after that. It’s like a watered down version of what Taylor’s done for years.

I'm not gonna knock what people choose to believe, re: astrology and stuff but she really lost me when she started banging on about the power of Saturn or some shit. I felt that was the point she no longer had any relatability she might have once had to the average fan. She has gone full Hollywood and it's just not working for me when she made such a noise about how she was just like us, honest gov!

I first proper started to go off her with the 30 album promo trail though. She was so narcissistic about her divorce and the one track on the album where she inflicts some hideous parentification on Angelo in the name of being "real" just make me not want to know anymore. 30 was also completely shit which didn't help.

And we can't forget how she acted over her cancelled Vegas residency the first time it was supposed to be going ahead.

I just find it odd that she walks around with a security team surrounding her but then also hugs fans and takes selfies with them giving them the perfect opportunity to turn around and punch her or whatever!
