So glad I found this thread, I’m so disappointed in the new album, a guardian review said it needed editting and I couldn’t agree more. When I heard the new songs she did on “An Audience with Adele” I thought whoa she’s gone back to 19 style Adele, but then all the other filler tracks have auto tune or stupid chipmunk style backing vocals. I found it interesting she chose to perform I drink wine instead of oh my god, I prefer IDW to OMG and was annoyed that OmG got the video and released as a single. IDW feels more true to Adele.

Anyway, basically going to repeat what a lot of people said on thread one. She’s so LA now, like all this “my divorce happened because of Saturn.” And her best pal is Nicole Richie, like what? When did that happen?
She seems so far removed than how she was back in the 21 era.

Only came to this thread as watching the carpool karaoke - if I didn’t know it was Adele I wouldn’t have recognised her. She looks like a totally different person

Think it’s been a whole head transplant, it’s the only conclusion I can reach.

I don’t think she was ever a nice person. I remember way back at the start of her career, she slagged off Take That when they made a comeback. She said something along the lines of she wasn’t interested in has beens. I thought at the time it was an unnecessary, nasty & arrogant thing to say. Looks like she has only got worse with fame.

Please don't have a go at me but....I have personal experience of flying out to Vegas and New York to see a singer who cancelled, sometimes just minutes before the show.
Sadly, it's the chance you take when you travel to see artists in residence. I am in no way condoning it and I did get refunds for the show tickets however I just made the best of it and enjoyed the cities I was in.
I don't think, in my opinion, that artists should refund flights/ accommodation. Like I said, it's the chance you take.

I do agree with you on this, there is always the risk of not seeing an artist when you travel to see a show. But I still think Adeles attitude to this is quite cavalier, that’s what‘s adding insult to injury on this.

She's looking so thin it makes her look ill. Her attitude stinks, she's become a complete shell of her former self and its so sad to see.

I thought she didn’t come across naturally at all this eve, she tried, but this was a very different Adele.
And, what about that ring? If they have just got engaged, that’s even more worrying.
They clearly had an almighty row, enough for her to cancel Vegas for, so a big old rock won’t paper over those cracks.

She wants to reduce working commitments? She’s been MIA for 5 whole years…

Most artists say touring is their favourite part of the job and that’s what everything they work on builds up to?

She has a dream job for an artist. Make a smash album, promote it for a bit, make lots of money, then bugger off for several years and do sweet F.A

It's sad to see but it looks like the Hollyweird lifestyle has sucked all the soul out of her! She looks a shell of her former self (and I don't just mean weight wise) It feels like she is going through the motions because she is being advised to in order to keep her career alive but you can tell her heart's not in it.
I think she really needs a break and if she can't deal with live performances but still wants to create, she will have to release albums without all the live interviews, concerts etc. I'm sure it will still rake in the £££'s for her!

She’s telling her version on GN and she has to force herself to make eye contact while doing it. I think she’s telling the version of the story in her head that makes it ok. The problem is though, it completely neglects the fans that had already flown all that way. Saying she couldn’t put on anything less than a perfect show - they were already there with likely non refundable tickets and accommodation. Do an ‘unplugged’ style and give them a choice of a refund and they’d have felt they got something more special than everyone else.

Or offer them exclusive access to an online performance now just for those that missed out those first few days, just something…some acknowledgement that isn’t all about her apparent high standards that allow for nothing to be better than something.

I think she’s clearly put some of the weight back on (some, not a huge amount). And she’s obviously boozing too. If it was a very strict regime she was on, that’s always going to be difficult to maintain and maybe her resolve has cracked a bit.

I can totally believe that.
If it is true she's being a fool trusting her boyfriend. She's insecure and he's controlling - a recipe for disaster.

How sad that she doesn't have any old friends and trustworthy people around her.

I'm also beginning to suspect drugs are involved here.

I had traveled to London when she cancelled her Wembley gigs with a midnight statement on Insta. She has previous for pulling garbage. I honestly did look into going to Vegas, but once bitten.

As others have said, other artists just do not do this. Celine Dion had an 8 year residency, when her brother and husband died she had two shows off. Everyone would have understood if she needed an extended break. Katy Perry’s marriage ending via text an hour before she went on stage. Numerous other examples. I don’t understand why she signed up for the residency if her heart wasn’t really in it. She doesn’t need the money.

November-March is prime Covid time when people's vitamin D is lowest. Rates skyrocket in the winter. I bet she's counting on the pandemic to have a good excuse for her shows to be forcibly cancelled.

I think the truth is she's not very good singing live due to her terrible technique. She doesn't have the vocal stamina for anything other than an occasional show. She's not capable of a residency.

That's not how I read it although not sure how you're supposed to know you'll need a refund by 1st August when the information is not being release until 3rd August!

I definitely think in the USA, you are surrounded by more yes people especially when you have fame and money, whereas in the UK its quite different. So I can definitely see once in the USA and absolutely anything can and will be done for you, it's easy for the ego to explode which I think is what has happened with Adele. Even with arguments with set designers and so on, Las Vegas will have the best production staff in the world and if there not available, they could easily fly people in from LA to get the show up and running. It is a big slap in the face of fans who saved their money, took time of work and booked flights / hotels for this, especially with the feel free to buy my merch comments as well.
I think beyonce has only cancelled one concert in her entire career when she lost her voice.
And now with streaming services, the main way for artists to make their fortune is through touring / residences and I can't see any companies willing to insure Adele for the future with this been the second time she has bailed
