What pisses me off with the TNT commentary of the skiing is that appalling pronunciations! They do it all through the World Cup, but the Olympics App has got all the athletes from all the different events saying their own names and giving a slow pronunciation! He also pronounces Francesca Marsaglia appallingly and he used to ski against the brother of the presenter he's referring to!same!!
the bbc commentary of the hockey is PAINFUL though. it takes nothing to do some research before actually starting: he just said there’s been no nhl players in the olympics since 1998 (so how does sidney crosby have a gold medal then)![]()
that’s shocking! like you say, they literally couldn’t help us out more - you can listen to every single athlete say their name! What pisses me off with the TNT commentary of the skiing is that appalling pronunciations! Adrenaline.aw man that’s a horrible crashout in the half pipe
edit: how is he walking away unaided after that?!?
“i regret nnnnoootthhinng” is hysterical![]()
I also think medical staff should be able to rule them out of continuing if needed but a lot of them seem to start initially with injuries or carry on with them. Surely they are just putting themselves and possibly others at risk of worse injuryAdrenaline.
I don’t blame him for wanting to walk away but I do think that there should be medical staff who insist they don't until they've been properly assessed and the adrenaline has dropped.
It seems to have been all about what the Judges are looking for in this particular competition, which seems to be different from what the skiers/boarders thought they wanted!Do Tim and Ed actually know what they are talking about or are the judges on a different planet - they don't ever seem to agree![]()
The BBC does that with every sports event they show. Wimbledon is a joke. You can't record anything if you go out, because all of a sudden it's jumped from one channel to another and back again. They should have 'spare' channels that they activate for Wimbledon, the Olympics etc and keep the events on there. Why start something on BBC1 if you're going to turf it to BBC2 a short while later?trying to watch hockey on the BBC is like spinning in a confusing circle! why are there SO many channel changes and so many gaps in what they show...
And then say it’s on iplayer and then flick back to bbc2 and then back to iplayer - very hard to keep up as a viewer! The BBC does that with every sports event they show. Wimbledon is a joke. it’s impossible! not to mention they treat it like football and seem to think it’s all over after two periodstrying to watch hockey on the BBC is like spinning in a confusing circle! why are there SO many channel changes and so many gaps in what they show...
If you have a VPN you can watch CBC Gem, which is the streaming arm of the CBC.trying to find canadian commentary as i don’t think i can cope with the british guy they have on the bbc who apparently has never watched hockey in his life.
thank you! i will investigate! If you have a VPN you can watch CBC Gem, which is the streaming arm of the CBC.
Saros was amazing in goal. On one shot the puck ran up his stick and didn't go in, wow. Canada has to kick U.S. a and hopefully Sid can play. They are letting the bars serve booze in the morning for the game on Sunday. If they lose there will be several people calling in sick on Monday.
I’ve just tuned in and I’m confused as to why the athletes, having taken the skins off their skis and completed the downhill section of the course, have to put a new set of skins ON their skis just so that they can ski a short distance and handover to their teammate? I’ve never seen an event with so many faffy transitions!Ski mountaineering mixed relay has longer distance, I wonder why it wasn't like that for individual competitions
