We talked about where we were when we heard various famous people died (for example, @Elmoo was getting nits picked out of their hair when they heard Diana died and @TruthTeller1036 was in Spain when Michael Jackson died) and then we got annoyed remembering when royalty/famous death announcements would interrupt our favourite cartoons and shows

We started talking about songs not to sing in prison for some reason or other

King Charles has bum problems, Princess Dull has tummy trouble and Meghan Wotsit is probably planning something

We noticed that @SmillieKylie and @kurtCobainsguitar had been quiet on the thread for a while and all agree that @Mrs Fluff is a highly valued member of the thread and is always missed whenever they aren't commenting...

Apparently you original Death Poolers miss when I had antlers...

A 'Cliff Richard' fitted the bathroom of @me myself and karma and so then the Cliff puns started so I contemplated closing the thread there and then

The divine @Serene Serena went out on the town and thankfully did not choke on their own -or someone else's- vomit

We are all looking forward to the first Bonus Round of the year

In other news, for the most part, we've not had any real bickering or wanker behaviour in all 22 or whatever it is threads we've had open for the Death Pool.
Sure, the odd cross word or misunderstanding here and there but for the most part it's one of the friendliest threads I've seen on Tattle.
So that's nice.



It's a dopey game that keeps me amused, and I appreciate every single one of you that takes part and joins in with the fun.
My brain is a struggle at the best of times and you Death Poolers and your nonsense really do help sometimes. Which is weird but there you go.
I do try to keep out of other threads, for the most part, because I usually end up getting irritated.
Thankfully this silly place is there when I need it; distraction is the key, and you do provide a fun distraction.
So thank you.

Big thanks to some of the regulars, and especially my cult members pals who I do not talk to in WhatsApp in any way. You know who you are.

We all knew Jonnie wasn't going to make old bones but it's still heartbreakingly sad when a 50yo man loses his life. He tried so hard to keep on living and considering he was only given 6 months, 3 years ago, he did remarkably well. Because of his TV shows, I think we all felt that we knew him as well. May he rest in peace.

Very bittersweet about Jonnie Irwin. On the one hand I’m thrilled to have points for the first time ever! On the other hand I feel so desperately sad for his wife and children My sister passed away from cancer aged 44, it truly is the most horrific way to die. Just so cruel!

God, those easy 94 points… I’m so upset

Some people can hold two opposing things in their head at the same time; getting 50pts in the Celebrity Death Pool is fun. Yay! Some people have 94pts already, which is amazing considering how bad we all were at this last year.
However, it is still sad that Jonnie Irwin died. He lived much longer than was expected and managed -we hope- to leave his family with some good memories for them to look back on.

As a reminder, you currently have nul points but do have some good potential on your list so... let the game continue

PS. This isn't in any way me having a go at you. It is directed towards anyone who thinks we are sick or heartless. We are not. We rarely celebrate a death here (the death of Rolf Harris, for example, was very much celebrated, whereas we were universally upset when Paul O'Grady died).
As I've said many times, the Death Pool (this one or any other out there) is just a bit of fun. Dark humour, certainly, but that's all.
