I feel like they made it this difficult to understand in the hopes they will confuse the American public into not giving a tit.

Lots of Americans actually really like the confusing system of electorial college and the entertainment it creates. Then every 4 years many call for reform when they didn't get the result they wanted.

It would be a bit dull if it was all electric and a simple popular vote that was announced minutes after everywhere closed. Although news probably shouldn't be entertainment and if it wasn't we wouldn't have a reality TV host running the free world

The thing with Pennsylvania is that all the votes left to be counted are mailed ones and from the mailed ones they'd counted before they stopped for the night, they were favouring Biden by about 17 to 1. So there could be a huge swing there once all those are counted (I believe it's still over a million votes) which is why Trump is so desperate to stop them being looked at.

Seen it reported as almost 3 million still uncounted in PA. Trump currently has a 675,000 lead so he could easily be overtaken if the uncounted votes are blue.

Quite astonishing that the so-called leader of the free world is trying to stop all votes being counted in an election.

I keep thinking this. It's been- what- a couple of hours since, and I still cannot believe it.
Really? Democracy? And the crowd cheered when he said it! WTF?

There is a lot wrong with him but, this in particular is just abhorrent.
And you would think the handling of the pandemic would really stand out to people as they go to vote. Because he is literally just waiting for the vaccine to make the problem go away (lol) and he'll claim it was what he said all along (that covid would disappear poof, double lol). Never mind all the lives lost in the meantime because that human cost isn't important and people are just expendable to him. That human cost should matter to the voters though- your cousins, siblings, neighbours, grannies, doctors, firefighters, yourselves- yet it doesn't seem to for so many.

It's just a sad picture all around, really. Not just in the US, as many have pointed out, but in the UK too. I'm so disappointed in all of it.

Yes that makes sense, from what I could see it wasn't fair on Trump calling some states woth less counted than others. Thanks!

And back on topic you can barely hear Kay burley with all that drilling and building work going on. Beautiful DC morning view thoufb. Non derailed talk - I think things have slowed down a bit now. Pennsylvania have 3,000,000 votes roughly still to count but won't start again until 10am their time.

Annoyed the Dems don't seem to have managed to flip the Senate this time around. The reign of Moscow Mitch continues.
