Praying someone who worked on those magazines comes to tell us what went on behind the scenes! They were v chaotic 😬 I only read them at school but feel like every other one had someone who didn’t know they were pregnant only to give birth in a toilet cubicle?
They always had so much sex in! Really inappropriate for their readership seeking as you’re not supposed to even have sex until you’re 16 :)

And Gok Wan :)

MSN messenger :)

Sad to hear of the death of Darius Danesh. Loved him so much back in the early 2000s.
Colourblind is in my top ten songs of all time.

Does anyone remember those wbsites where you could get a code to "write" a ringtone on your nokia phone? seems hilarious we made so much effort for ringtones considering i think pretty much everyone has their phone on silent 24.7 now

I loved The Simple Life and could often be found wearing a Juicy Couture tracksuit tucked into Ugg boots 😭 (I’m 31)

So many memories I had a really shit childhood BUT I still think we had it better than kids of today in regards of going out to play on your bike for hours a day not coming in till it got dark. Last generation of kids sat in the pub falling asleep on two chairs pushed together and someone’s coat over you, all whilst breathing in fag smoke!
My bedroom was groovy chick then when I got to 13 it was playboy. I even had a water cooler that was playboy. Door beads in playboy bunnies.
And does anyone remember the make up collection? Really shit bits but I had all the glosses!
Impulse sprays, Skins, £3 lunch money each day and you’d use it to buy fags instead. Could get 20 fags for £4! I pay £10.60 now.
miss those days so much.

I’d spend hours sorting out my MySpace page. Picking what song, if I had just broken up with my boyfriend it would be a heartbroken song and hoping he would hear it 😂 picking what background to have, if you got it wrong when you went to check your profile it would just show all the code as the background instead so you’d have to redo it again. I also remember picking who was my top 5 friends so their profile pic and name would show on my profile page as well. Instagram is just not the same!

Omg also I remember when you’d post in the bulletin part saying “new photo like for like” when you just uploaded one and I remember a time where people would comment “can I own this” on a pic so you’d caption it “*name* owns this photo” 😂

This thread is great!

Does anyone remember the Hot or Not website where people would send photos in and you had to click whether you thought they were hot or not. I’m sure someone from my school had their photo on there 🤣

Another early website I remember was rotten.com - it had really disgusting pictures of people after accidents and stuff. I’m glad I’m not a teenager these days but we still found some mad stuff in those early days of internet. We used to look at both of these websites on the school computers 🤣

I was 18 in 2000. I remember meeting my partner online in 2006 via a website called Face Party. It was an awful place and we were both eventually kicked off for being too boring🤣 We used to email each other in the early days as you couldn't put much in a text and you could only store a handful on your phone anyway! I used to wake up early in the morning before I went to work, turn on the computer and see if he's emailed, then spend all day thinking of a reply so I could email back when I got in 🤣 To send photos we had to take a photo with a digital camera, upload it to the computer then attach it to the email. Makes you realise how lucky we are to have it all at our fingertips on our phones these days.

Love Brittany Murphy. There is an interesting video about her on YouTube, it's called The Forgotten Legacy of Brittany Murphy.

This might apply to the 90s too, but I remember when Lidl and/or Aldi weren't as popular as they are today and they didn't have baskets, so you had to carry your shopping around in one of those empty cardboard containers.
People used to be embarrased to go to aldi and lidl , then it suddenly became "cool" netto was another one , I remember "your parents shop in netto" being thrown around as an insult
