Retired alternative/mosher type here and I agree the early 2000s was an amazing time for gigs and festivals. I remember seeing Fall Out Boy in a tiny venue in Manchester before they got really big. I met my first love when I was 17 on the Kerrang forums and got 2 buses to meet him at an alternative club
I know it wasn't a perfect era, it was a crap time to be plus sized for one, but I feel in general the vibe was more fun and less self conscious than today.

I really loved celebrity gossip as a teen back then! I loved looking on TMZ & Perez Hilton. I enjoyed seeing what celebs had recently been arrested lol! it was usually for drunk driving or being in possession of cocaine (usually both). Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears were always on celeb gossip blogs.

Also would read the newspaper that my dad bought but only if there was a celeb scandal usually some glamour model who had slept with a married footballer or drug scandals! Like Kate Moss being filmed doing lines in a music studio with Pete Doherty

Oh god, Mayfairs whyyyyy. Were you even a teen in the 2000s if you didn't go down the park after school to get fucked on Bacardi Breezers and smoke Mayfairs? I wouldn't smoke them now if you paid me, as an adult I have much more refined tastes I remember before the law changing the age restriction to 18 in late 2007, I was going mad stocking up on them because it was just before my 17th birthday. As if they're over £11 these days. A pack used to cost less than a fiver!

I can't decide if I preferred the 90's or 00's best, I was born in 83 and so glad I was born at that time. We had the best music and TV shows.
I miss bebo and MySpace, definitely preferred them to Facebook.
I used to smoke back then and there was a ciggie vending machine in my local club.
Going out with £20, sometimes £10 in your pocket and getting shit faced.

I know this is a thread for 00s nostalgia but is anyone getting nostalgia for the early 2010s? Not even that long ago but it seems such a different time, I watched Everything I Know About Love recently which I think is set in 2012 and it reminded me so much of my carefree twenties ... I've just ordered some 2010s magazines off Ebay too (remember £2 Glamour mags?!)

Just off the top of my head, I'm thinking Skater dresses, ombre hair, peak hipster style, gin, mustaches on everything, the rise of Instagram, aztec print dresses, avocados, secret cinema, 2012 Olympics!!

The difference un the UK from the 2012 Olympics to now is so depressing. Was such an optimistic time
