Him and Carrie both seem to hate seeing other people doing well or better than them. Carrie can never praise or watch her understudies, and Tom can never give other kids' authors any shine. I also remember that he fucking hated JLS, who were at the peak of their popularity when Above The Noise came out, and used to slyly shade them all the time. He didn't mind One Direction, but I think that's because Niall was a massive McFly fan and they were paid to write songs for them.

To be fair, it’s more about Tom - he clearly has a bit of a thing for Amy, you can see it written all over him. He couldn’t make it more obvious. So even if Amy isn’t interested, if I was G id still be furious because Tom is all over Amy and it’s disrespectful.
