I hate having to wear cooler clothes because I look like a fat messšŸ¤£ much more easier in winter when I can hide in baggy clothes

I have a job interview at 15:30 They contacted me yesterday and said we could do it by Teams instead of me attending the office.
I'm tempted to wear a nice blouse on the top half as that will be on screen but just my knickers on the bottom half.

I also hate how it never really gets dark, so Iā€™m lying in my bed at 11pm trying to get to sleep feeling sweaty and irritated and itā€™s also bright outside, then I eventually get to sleep but wake up around 4am and itā€™s still bright outside

Does it stress anyone else out all these people who simply cannot grasp that late 30s temps in the uk just arenā€™t the same as abroad? Our country is built for keeping heat in, plus air con is rare and pools almost non existent. People are deliberately obtuse about this on purpose I swear!

I worry for all the animals in this heatšŸ˜„

The walk to school wasnt to bad. Was more like early morning when your abroad and its just getting warm, shame i wasnt on my way to a pool šŸ¤£
Itā€™s the pick up Iā€™m dreading. Itā€™s uphill, Iā€™m fat and donā€™t cope with heat well. Iā€™ll resemble daddy pig doing his fun run šŸ˜‚

I put my pillowcases in the freezer and was looking forward to bedtime and having nice cool sheets but they just smell like chicken nuggets and are giving me brain freeze šŸ˜

I swear if I see one more comment about how we are whiners and people abroad manage I will scream!

Having lived and worked abroad I can tell you houses are built to keep the heat out unlike here, infrastructure is different, more heat resistant materials are used and we are not going to rip up runways for possibly a few days heat. Locals live and adapt to the heat (siestas, late meals etc) schools are already out, most locals move inland over the peak months when the heat on the coast is extreme. It takes weeks for your body to acclimatize, I remember being by a pool working wearing a jumper feeling chilly whilst holiday makers were sunbathing in October šŸ˜‚ This isnā€™t like when we go on holiday and we have a cool pool to dip in, drinks to hand, no work, no school, no chores.

Iā€™ve kept my child home today, kids fainted at their school yesterday, Iā€™m sat in my home office all day working - itā€™s already 30.c in here and I feel sick so thereā€™s no way Iā€™m making them endure the same in a shoddy built 70ā€™s era school to prove a point.

This isnā€™t a British summer, the weather we have coming up after this is what we are as a country are used to. This isnā€™t Spain, Greece or Italy. Weā€™re a tiny island in the North Sea which should be wet and lush whether we like it or not. And Europe isnā€™t having a great time of it in the heat either with all the fires šŸ˜©

The part of me that does things just for shits and giggles is considering bookmarking this thread to post it in the inevitable thread moaning about the five feet of snow in January.

There is definitely two types of people in this heat. My neighbours are sat outside in the garden behaving like they're on holiday. Then there's me and hubby shut in a room with the curtains closed, fans on the go and a mobile AC unit blasting away šŸ¤£

1. The constant need to change outfits because itā€™s too hot to wear jeans but youā€™re too wobbly to wear shorts.
2. Cannot find a flattering length of shorts anywhere
3. The constant need for suncream
4. The constant need to lather up the kids with suncream
5. Kids moaning about being sticky because of said suncream
6. Kids moaning theyā€™re hot
7. Reminding kids to wear a hat
8. Reminding kids (and other half) to take a water bottle out
9. Questioning whether you actually just stay in because itā€™s too hot to venture out
10. The roasting hot house
11. The annual argument with the other half about leaving windows open (ā€œbut weā€™ll get robbedā€ šŸ™„)

And Iā€™m generally a positive person! šŸ™ƒ

Letā€™s just leave it at 18-20 degrees shall we? And every other day chuck a bit of a breeze in there so the house can cool down. That would be perfect!

I've found my people! I hate hot weather, my ideal outside temperature is around 5 so being the 27+ for multiple days in a row is horrible. My asthma flares up in heat, all clothing feels too sticky and I can barely sleep.

Every other person in the small company I work for hates cold weather and loves summer and keep talking about how gorgeous the weather is and I just don't get it. I could understand enjoying a slightly warm 10-12c but not this!
