Reading this thread and seeing she fucked up with the Manchester flat makes me happy in a very spiteful way. People like Victoria have for too long seen housing in Manchester as an investment for their own wealth and greed rather than the basic right it should be. Rent in this city has doubled in the last 7-8 years because of their greed, it’s completely unattainable for young people who grow up or go to uni here to live in flats that now charge £1500 a month for rent. May more people fail and waste money like she has.

EXACTLY. As a member of press for 10 years this was so uncomfortable to read. Also, MANY journalists have to write about places even when theyre not invited (let alone with their husbands) on 5* experiences. She wouldn’t be caught dead doing real press work without return. Who does she think she is? I have never posted on here but had to come on here to comment. I’ve also messaged her about it reminding her that she is NOT a member of the press and should pull her entitlement and brattiness out of her ass. Honestly, how she thinks anyone can render her attitude endearing is beyond me. I’m usually such a calm natured, live and let live, kind of person, but this sent me over the edge.

Guys. It’s Decades long genocide.
We’re not asking her for a thesis. A simple “I am learning about the happenings and so whilst I do not have much to contribute to the dialogue, I stand up for human rights of all, and that includes the human rights of the Palestinians in Gaza” would he sufficient and received with gratitude. Her virtue signaling of telling us monkeys - go read the news if you want to learn, I have no view and I see nothing, hear nothing, say nothing, in the face of genocide and war crimes, is, I’m sorry, but a repetition of all the people who stood quietly throughout history during similar atrocities. There is no equality of arms between the worlds 3rd strongest nuclear super power, and a small “open-air prison” that they call this embargoed piece of land (Gaza) which doesn’t even have an army. The latter is being combatted by the former, so you can appreciate that there is no symmetry or equality in their defence here.
Her post was worded in a way I have experienced people skirting confrontation and accountability of this atrocity for tens of years so please allow me to explain what was particularly thoughtless in her approach:
It refused to even say the word “Palestine” or “Palestinians” because she doesn’t want to affiliate herself with a “side” because she is scared, like most silenced people, of demonstrating that she is choosing one. This demonstrates that she is silent because she fears the repercussion of choosing “the wrong one”
This is the fear mongering that the alt. right has instilled which makes people wrongly believe that this is a Jew vs. Arab problem (it’s not, I’m a Christian and I am against the Israeli occupation), that standing up to the Israeli state sanctioned violence is anti-Semitic (it is absolutely not. Jewish people themselves are in scores condemning the Israeli government and calling to a halt to the apartheid and genocide and what is happening does NOT represent Judaism as a faith or Jewish people as practicers of that faith).
I won’t even touch on the self victimisation, and self centralising she *yet again* employed in her dialogue with a pre-amble on not wishing to state that state sanctioned ethnic cleansing is not a nice thing, because she has been taking steps to protect her mental health ? ? (make it make sense please).
And finally, if someone is more worried about being called “performative” than standing up to an atrocity happening to equal human beings during our time, then that is even worse than anything I can imagine for the state of our society.
During South African Apartheid, during the Holocaust, even during the Suffragettes people risked their lives to stand up for the rights of others - and here we are too scared to use a mobile phone to safely and simply write down an expression of our solidarity and use the same platforms and reach we use to gain commissions, and secure paid-for holidays, meals and clothes, even if with a simple few words saying: “I stand against all forms of genocide, apartheid, and oppression?”
This is not a lose-lose situation. This is an integrity and moral compass situation. And we must all call on our collective conscience to say something, even if we are challenged, because that is how we learn, that is how we teach one another, and that is how we stand up before it’s too late.
Governments get away with murder only through collective apathy, silence, and willful mutedness/blindness.
To your question - “could Vics voice add anything to the discussion?” Whilst Noam Chomsky she is not, for some reason unbeknownst to me, thousands of people who will truly know nothing about this, can be “influenced” by her setting an example the way she so carefully and successfully did when it suited her image and self-virtue for BLM, to say “hey guys we need to stand up for what is right; and it doesn’t take a PHD to know that we need to condemn what is happening in Gaza and to the Palestinian people. If you have any resources let’s all share and learn together.”
- Imagine how many people might be inspired by a message like that to actually LISTEN. instead of the one she posted whinging and complaining and self centralising, and not even humanising the oppressed by calling them by their name? Followed by a swift deletion of any respectful comments on her post on the matter. I’m sorry but just take a moment to think about what it would look like had she posted the exact same thing and deleted the exact same comments during BLM. Let’s not join the hypocrisy then by excusing it now.
I know it’s exhausting - but standing up for human rights is exhausting. It’s not fashion, fun and lifestyle. It’s life or death. It’s not a pleasant conversation but as members of privileged and free and safe and democratic(ish) societies it is our human duty to do the work.

Cue Vic, the cellulite crusader. You know what‘s damaging Vic? You are skinny and white. Clothing, experiences, society all cater to women with bodies like yours. Normalizing cellulite is great. Good for you. But please do not co-opt the body positivity movement to make your newest social awareness known. Use your platform to advocate for plus model inclusion, expanded sizing, equity within the brands you work with. The body positivity movement was started by fat black women and all these skinny white influencers are using it to gain sympathy and support for their perceived flaws when society treats them just fine (even when they sit funny and you see a roll). I’m sorry, but this is really personal and triggering.

This thread is so determined to find flaws in every single inch of Victoria's life that she was going to be 'wrong' whatever she wore. She chose a dress and it's deemed arrogant but if she had worn a sari, she would have been accused of cultural appropriation.
The only thing she did wrong was to choose an ugly dress. But I can't hold that against her if she truly likes it. And I can't believe that she would have taken Beau without first garnering permission to do so.
There is enough behaviour to share and highlight here that IS inappropriate, bad business or money grabbing, then her innocent behaviours can stay that way without fabrication of arrogant or superiority complex intent.

I’m 8 mins into the vlog and so far it’s been non-stop brag/OTT consumerism. Talks about buying a brand new Defender there and then, getting the added extras straight away, their RR loan and not enough room for cars on the drive, how amazing the new car will look alongside their Porsche. Then straight into the showing us the almost £6k coffee machine and ‘treating’ themselves with it (like they don’t treat themselves continuously or is it because she’s paid her own money for it?)
From there moves on to Alex’s ‘playroom’ (her words) and how they’ve ripped it all out and now turning it into and office and how they’re forking out to redesign this room and the Manchester flat.

ladies! i'm sure we're already in the same camp but just in case....DO NOT do what this bimbo is promoting -- walking distracted on your phones while listening to bulky ass headphones in any city. Especially if you're in shoes that keep you off balance... as she is trying to keep pointing and walking her legs at the same time in those stilettos lol
It's a dangerous thing to do that can lead to getting hurt in traffic or otherwise -- not to mention robbed. Always, always, always be aware of your surroundings.
For a practical suggestion -- when I want to listen to an audiobook or music walking here in NY... it's only with ONE airpod in and the second ear left open to hear everything around me.

I suspect there was a very specific audience for that post, and it's not us, the hoi polloi. I've been thinking about this when considering the bizarre phenomenon that is The Influencer, and her hopeless-and-crying post has put it in a bit of focus: We judge ourselves by the community we're in. She's not in our community: We're disembodied comments on the Interwebz--even her people who like her aren't a community for her, though they give her the spotlight and adoration she craves. Her community comprises the people she sees, the people who do what she does, the people who tell her yes and tell her no (Carolina Herrera?). And your community changes as you move through your day and your life. You may have a work community, a religious community, a neighborhood community, a friend community, a family community, a workout-community, etc. And these last two give me a point of comparison for Frow: If you work out, and you're with your family who don't, you feel good about your Pilates class or your 5-mile run; but when you go to Pilates class, you compare yourself, and there's someone there stronger, leaner, more flexible, and then you don't feel so good, and you may feel you have more work to do and goals to realize or things you'll never be able to achieve. With your family, you're the "face of Pilates!" but at Pilates, you're just another schlub trying to get through the class. She needs us so she can feel good about her life, all her free shit, her trip with LV and designer outfits and bags, because we don't get that stuff. But we're not real. The people she's around all the time are doing her gig too, and even people with smaller followings are doing better than she is in some (many?) ways. In that group at LV, she was with people who are better than her in a lot of ways, and I'm sure that dashed her feelings about her success. (Did you see Tamara's terrace in her hotel room at Lake Maggiore? It was the size of 4 of Frow's attics!)
I think that post with the tears wasn't for her communities outside her industry--though the indirect consequence of getting all that reinforcement, encouragement and compliments from it was, I'm sure, very satisfying. That post was for someone she wanted to make feel bad, she wanted to show consequences to and she didn't have another means. She is very, very narcissistic, and narcissists can't manage their negative emotions; they must throw them onto others and make someone else feel bad so they can feel better. There's so much we can't know about her real-world communities, but I bet cash money she had someone/some people she was targeting with that ad, and the adoring response was part of what she wanted to communicate to them. We're in the cheap seats. The real interactions are not as easy for us to discern.

Whattttttttt? That’s great news! I always find it hard to fit my music headphones, podcast headphones, gym headphones, commute headphones and on the go headphones in my gifted Stine Goya bag.
