This is off topic but this needs to be challenged. For every weirdo who is pro unisex loos like Eric there are probably 10 paedophiles who are transphobic.

It’s like Steven Yaxley Lennon and Muslim grooming gangs - yes they exist but there are many more white grooming gangs. I dont think the issues should be conflated.
Preferring single sex loos does not automatically equal transphobic- that also needs to be challenged

What do you mean by ‘trans rights’? Trans people already have all the same human rights that everybody does under the Human Rights Act. And their gender identity is also a protected characteristic under the Equality Act.

The only rights that trans women don’t have are women’s rights. The trans lobby wants to appropriate women’s rights that are explicitly protected in the Equality Act. Trans people don’t need these rights because the rights that women have fought so hard for over decades (the right to single sex spaces, the right to refuse medical treatment by a man, the right to talk about their biology and anatomy in any context where it is relevant) are necessary because of the discrimination, oppression and abuse that women have endured for centuries. Abuse and oppression specific to the fact that they are born female in a male-dominated society. Abuse and oppression that women have never been able to identity out of, despite their supposedly enormous ‘cis privilege’.

The problem with men like Eric Joyce, and why his support of unisex spaces is relevant to the ‘trans rights’ discussion is because Eric Joyce, like lots and lots of other men, is a violent sex offender. The trans lobby wants to remove the current threshold for legal gender transition. At the moment the gender reassignment act requires a trans person to live as their preferred ‘gender’ for two years, and to have had gender reassignment surgery in order to be legally recognised as their preferred gender.

(For the moment, let’s leave to one side the question of what ‘gender’ even is, versus biological sex. Gender is essentially a bunch of sexist tropes and sterotypes defined by a patriarchal society and imposed on the different sexes. I do not identify as female. I am female because of my anatomy, but I never wear dresses or high heels. I rarely wear makeup. I do a ‘masculine’ job. If you take my biology out of the question, by all gender metrics I am overwhelmingly more male than female.)

If the standard for ‘who can transition into a woman’ stops being: ‘someone who has lived as a woman for two years and who has had gender reassignment surgery’ and instead becomes: ‘anyone who says they identify as one’, then at what point during that transition process does a violent male sexual offender like Eric Joyce, for example, stop being a threat to women and children?

Of course not all men...etc. But enough men. And it is overwhelmingly men. So, what are safeguarding and single sex spaces even for, if not to afford women protection from being exposed to potentially violent sexual predators?

And if it no longer becomes a requirement for a trans woman to even shave their beard, how are we to know whether the flat-chested male-looking person in eyeliner who’s pointlessly trying on bras in the next M&S cubicle is eyeing us up for the wank bank, or just one of the girls?

To even voice any of what I’ve written here is to be branded transphobic or a ‘terf’ (which is a misogynistic slur, by the way).

You bet that women who are concerned about the erosion of women’s rights and the protection of women and children are terrified by this judgment. Because men like Eric Joyce want access to our safe spaces. And on the one hand they are being given tacit assent by the legal system to just crack on with being a p*edo perv. And on the other hand, the woke brigade are cheering his support for unisex spaces.

I suggest, rather than opining that it’s ‘interesting’ there’s an overlap between women who are gender critical, and critics of Joyce’s sentence, why not wonder instead why men who like to wank to child sex abuse are advocates of unisex spaces. If you dig deeper into it, you’ll see there’s a massive overlap there too.
This is a phenomenal explanation.

“We all know hitting a child cannot be an expression of love” 🤢🤢🤢

India Knight should not be allowed to write about children full stop, less what does and does not constitute “expressions of love”.

The audacity of this woman is outrageous.

And no, I don’t believe women should be held accountable for partners or family members crimes but she is responsible for her own complicity. She should have the grace to resign her column. It’s an outrage she and Eric Joyce are protected and enabled by her step father, Andrew Knight, chairman of the Times newspapers.

I don't believe any of them when they said 'I don't know what happened but...'

Of COURSE they knew what happened - anyone with a Twitter account is capable of googling. They just didn't want to be seen to be condoning child abuse. Pathetic snivelling suck ups, the lot of them.

Eleanor Morgan, one of the few high profile people on Twitter who've spoken out against about Joyce's sentencing, posted some brilliant tweets this morning:
She is bang on. The more I think about it, the more I feel terrified at how this has been largely swept under the rug.

The entire story is shocking, upsetting and incredibly dark, from every angle - from EJ blaming alcohol and claiming the love of a good woman has put him straight, to IK making herself the victim, to the cabal of journos who’ve kept entirely schtum. Not to mention EJ’s history with Tattle! How dare IK have called Tattle users “married incels” over SH’s fantasy version of events, when she was sharing her life and bed with a man who watched a video of a baby being raped (sorry for graphicness of that word but it’s true and we should say it. I won’t pussyfoot around this stuff to avoid recognising the seriousness of it).

I cannot believe the column by IK today. She goes on about Linda E's deep rooted issues perhaps having something to do with the fact that she was married to man accused of sexually assaulting woman. Are we in some dystopian world....... how is she allowed to continuing writing for the Times it is madness!!!

The excuses paedophiles give out make me SO paranoid that I’m one click away from downloading loads of stuff and ending up in prison but it really isn’t true is it? I think you have to really search stuff out. And honestly who clicks links in their spam folder?

Really worth remembering that paedophiles are usually very clever and will lie and manipulate people to get what they want.

I don’t want to blame women for his actions but India still living with him and all those blue tickers offering support (esp those who didn’t know anything about what had happened!) is really grim and makes me feel sick 🤢

I will never forget when Sali had her rant and India called us beef faces and to 'stop talking about someone you don' t know you FUCK', she also offered to call the police for Sali.
Now we all know this was at the same time she knew Eric was being investigated for watching child abuse, yet wanted police involvement for here.
But she felt free enough to judge people. And still does.
A shameless individual.

They are an absolutely hideous pair. I can't think how the likes of Sali Hughes can square ranting and raving about the likes us of bitching in a corner of the internet but is absolutely fine with cosying up with a man who searches baby rape online.

Funny old thing isn't it, the moral compass?

I'd normally agree but in this instance IK has stood by her violent p a e * * partner, allowed their relationship to be used as a mitigating factor in his sentencing and put her relationship with him above her own special needs daughter. And she has continued to breezily act like she is the expert on everything while judging others.

Hi all, long time lurker here who finally has the guts to post without thinking my identity will get found out somehow and I'll have an angry Eric round my house 😂

It's so nice to meet a community who think the same as me. I've never been good at articulating my thoughts on all these hypocrits on Twitter, preaching about racism and being kind etc. but are literally the nastiest gang around! I always thought I was in the minority in my thinking, as Twitter would lead you to believe that people like India were loved by all, however thankfully I am wrong and I have found the not so silent majority.

Her Husband is vile and the fact she stayed with him after some of his revolting behaviour makes me feel sick. How dare she always be on her high, smug horse and tell others how behave! 🤢

(Please don't beat me up Eric if you're reading this!)

She is a total HORROR

When her vile husband was in court for assaulting two teenagers she actually tweeted:

“Goodnight! I shall return when @ericjoyce is let off tomorrow for not taking kindly to being aggressed by, um, ‘excitable’ teenagers.”

She then added: “Don’t intimidate people who might intimidate you back, is the lesson. Especially in a corner shop at 5pm.”

He had winded one boy and headbutted the other. Claimed he was making a "citizens arrest"

Whats the betting these boys were BAME and he was relying on the police taking a respectable white middle aged man's word?
Luckily there was CCTV which showed he was lying AND the shopkeeper testified against him. He said the boys were crying and saying they wanted to go home - CHILDREN FFS!

As for the latest - it makes me sick. IK has a 17 year old daughter with learning difficulties FFS!!!!!!!!!!

What the hell?
In her recent column about Adele and divorce (still not adhering to her 'stop talking about people you don't know' adage btw) India actually has the gall to say
'you put your children first, then your husband....'

She really is just monstrous.

I do accept that it's a strong possibility she's been coerced and controlled by Joyce, and as a result of this has accepted/put up with/made excuses for his behaviour.

It's a harder pill to swallow that she was not long ago gloating online about him wanting to know the addresses of Tattlers. For someone to revel in threats of violence (yes India, that's exactly what you were insinuating so don't even bother) when their partner has multiple previous convictions for common assault, well I think that shows you exactly what type of person she is.

I noticed his Wiki page has been updated to show the important info 👍🏻

The fact that India offered to send Eric Joyce to visit the homes of tattlers who had criticised Sali Hughes, when she knew that he was being investigated for child sex abuse crimes, in addition to his previous conviction for assault, is indicative of her attitude towards his criminal behaviour.
