I could just as easily have given another north Spanish region. The Basques have been intermarrying with people from other regions of Spain which is why some of them look stereotypically Spanish and some don't.
The Romans didn't leave a genetic mark, because not many of them actually travelled here. Travelling across a continent wasn't easy 2000 years ago. Also the DNA of the Romans was not that different from ours, as this was from before the Moors.

Given that they raided Europe for slaves, it's not hard to see where this extra-marital DNA would have come from.
