I’ve spent 2020 as an undervalued key worker, been ignored by the government (I live in the actual north) and haven’t seen my family since feb..... so Eve that’s what most people’s 2020 has looked like

Exactly, would they rather we went and commented this stuff on their videos?
Can’t believe shes even got the cheek to compare her situation to what caroline flack went through. She was literally hounded and by multiple national media outlets and had constant lies published about her, hardly comparable to a few comments on a small anon forum.

What makes her even slightly qualified to be a political journalist? She’s hasn’t studied journalism and she hasn’t studied politics, so what makes her think that a couple of internships is enough to make it into a highly competitive field?

This is what annoys me when people talk about widening access at Oxbridge. They talk about schools, and taking account of the kinds of schools people have attended and giving lower offers and so on, but they never really consider the structural issues at Oxford and Cambridge that make it harder for less well off young people to attend. It’s things like having to move out at the end of every term (to her credit, Eve did mention this in her video), the shorter terms and students not being able to work during term-time. I get that the terms are very intense, but many students need to work in order to support themselves at uni. The whole set up seems to assume contacts and the ability to just walk into jobs over the holidays, or to not have to work at all.
Tbf it's also little things like having to buy a certain outfit for exams etc. That's what ultimately made me decide against going to Durham as in order to have a good time you apperently need fancy dress ext for a night out or you have a load of balls that you need to buy a ticket for and a nice dress. All of it is so flawed on so many levels that people with money don't see and can't understand
