Sorry if people disagree with me on this but it must be hell for that private family to have their daughter suddenly become the poster child for femicide in Ireland.
They are grieving and her face is literally everywhere all over the country and her name used for hashtags and bandwagons.

It drives me mad altogether when women start sharing their "experiences" and say things like a man made a sexual comment to me 10 years ago....as if you could compare that to the trauma of being murdered!!!

I'm sorry but what have we become at all as a nation, the Irish were always private with their business and now it's a free for all on social media.Rant over.

I'm not having it. My reason may seem stupid but I have always reacted badly to the normal flu jab in that im usually ill for a few days and I just don't want to make myself ill.
Surely a slightly better scenario, ill for a few days post jab than hospitalised with covid if you ever caught it? Not trying to even be funny here, just trying to make sense of your point as I know a lot of people have anxiety over side effects but imo the pros outweigh the cons.

So, I'm in the medical profession (when I'm not pregnant) absolutely no way will I be having it..
Call me a conspiracy theorist, nothing about this rings true. I don't know what the endgame is here, but I'm staying safe in my own way.

Before joining health services, you often have to show your vaccination history and its a requirement as part of your OH. Why is the covid jab any different? (Genuine question!)

Okay my parents had a business when we were growing up and Dad always drove a second hand car, modest, run of the mill car. One time, he test drove a second hand Mercedes’ and we the children really wanted him to buy it, thought it was class. He said no, I can’t park that outside the shop, my customers will say they paid for it. Shivs customers are paying for her first class flights and lifestyle, why can’t they see this! She does not deserve a penny

Long post alert lol...This is a real convo someone had.

Just incase anyones confused!! 🥴😆

ME: UK gov, should I get vaccinated if I already had Covid?

UK gov: “Yes, you should be vaccinated regardless of whether you already had C0VID-19. That’s because experts do not yet know how long you are protected from getting sick again after recovering from C0VID-19.”

ME: Oh, okay, we don’t know how long natural immunity lasts. Got it. So, how long does vaccine-induced immunity last?

Uk gov: “There is still a lot we are learning about C0VID-l9 vaccines and we are constantly reviewing evidence and updating guidance. We don’t know how long protection lasts for those who are vaccinated.”

Me: Okay … but wait a second. I thought you said the reason I need the vaccine was because we don’t know how long my natural immunity lasts, but it seems like you’re saying we ALSO don’t know how long vaccine immunity lasts either. So, how exactly is the vaccine immunity better than my natural immunity?

UK gov: …

Me: Uh … alright. But, haven’t there been a bunch of studies suggesting that natural immunity could last for years or decades?

UK gov: Yes. Years, maybe even decades, according to a new study.

ME: Ah. So natural immunity might last longer than vaccine immunity?

Uk gov: Possibly. You never know.

ME: Okay. If I get the vaccine, does that mean I won’t get sick?

Uk gov: Nope. We are just now entering a seasonal spike and about half of our infections and hospital admissions are vaccinated people.

ME: is this true? Are there a lot of people in the U.K. catching Covid after getting the jab?

David Javid: Over 60%

ME: Oh, okay. Hmm. Well, if I can still get sick after I get the vaccine, how is it helping me?

Uk gov: We never said you wouldn’t get sick. We said it would reduce your chances of serious illness or death.

ME: Oh, sorry. Alright, exactly how much does it reduce my chance of serious illness or death.

Uk gov: We don’t know “exactly, we think we've saved over 50,000 lives, but we haven't got any evidence of this.

ME: Oh. Then what’s your best estimate for how much risk reduction there is?

Uk gov: We don’t know, okay? Next question.

ME: Um, if I’m healthy and don’t want the vaccine, is there any reason I should get it?

Uk gov: Yes, for the collective and to be allowed to dance at a night club (for now)

ME: How does the collective benefit from me getting vaccinated?

Uk gov: Because you could spread the virus to someone else who might get sick and die.

ME: Can a vaccinated person spread the virus to someone else?

Uk gov: Yes.

ME: So if I get vaccinated, I could still spread the virus to someone else?

Uk gov: Yes.

ME: But I thought you just said, the REASON I should get vaccinated was to prevent me spreading the virus? How does that make sense if I can still catch Covid and spread it after getting the vaccine?

Uk gov: Never mind that. The other thing is, if you stay unvaccinated, there’s a chance the virus could possibly mutate into a strain that escapes the vaccine’s protection, putting all vaccinated people at risk.

ME: So the vaccine stops the virus from mutating?

Uk gov: No.

ME: So it can still mutate in vaccinated people?

Uk gov: Yes.

ME: Sorry but this seems confusing. If the vaccine doesn’t stop mutations, and it doesn’t stop infections, then how does me getting vaccinated help prevent a more deadly strain from evolving to escape the vaccine?

Uk gov: You aren’t listening, okay? The bottom line is: as long as you are unvaccinated, you pose a threat to vaccinated people.

ME: But what KIND of threat??

Uk gov: The threat that they could get a serious case of Covid and possibly die.

ME: My brain hurts. Didn’t you JUST say that the vaccine doesn’t keep people from catching Covid, but prevents a serious case or dying? Now it seems like you’re saying vaccinated people can still easily die from Covid even after they got the vaccine just by running into an unvaccinated person! Which is it??

Uk gov: Your just obviously an anti-vaxxer!

ME: Wait! I just want to make sure I understand all this. So, even if I ALREADY had Covid, I should STILL get vaccinated, because we don’t know how long natural immunity lasts, and we also don’t know how long vaccine immunity lasts. And I should get the vaccine to keep a vaccinated person from catching Covid from me, but even if I get the vaccine, I can give it to the vaccinated person anyways. And, the other vaccinated person can still easily catch a serious case of Covid from me and die. Do I have all that right?"

Logical thinking is now a fringe activity.

I work in the NHS (corporate management side of things) and I have declined the jab. About 70% of my team have had both, 10% have had one dose and 20% like myself are choosing to take a chance with our own god given immune systems. I know of many medics and health care professionals that have opted out.
IF the jab became mandatory, I would still refuse and they’d have to fire my ass, I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of leaving of my own accord. But, I personally don’t think it will be mandatory, I think it is yet again another scare tactic by the gov and Co.

I wholeheartedly disagree with those saying that those who choose to work in healthcare should have the vaccine, at the end of the day we are all responsible for our own health and well-being and people should not be guilt tripped into taking a jab for which we know little about the long term implications. For instance, a 25 year old nurse with her whole life ahead of her should not be pressured into getting a jab that may or may not cause death or irreparable harm to herself in order to protect 92year old Marjorie, it is Marjorie’s responsibility to take care of herself. The may sound harsh to some but I am entitled to my opinion and beliefs, as are you all.

I’m normally someone who’s all for vaccinations and anti-vaxers really wind me up..however, I personally really don’t think there’s enough research into the future side effects of the vaccine. Yes I agree that the vaccine will probably work, but in the long term we don’t know how it will impact people. As I’m only young I’m worried that what if I get this vaccination and then it turns out in 10 years time I want to try for a baby and I’m infertile due to complications of the vaccine..I’m sorry but I don’t want to be a Guinea Pig..I think I’ll sit this vaccine out 😬😬

Some craic coming on promoting a mental health app while you’re barely recognisable as you’re using Instagram filters which ironically causes most of the mental health issues in teenagers these days!

Imagine telling meJoolie and her ma your deepest darkest thoughts, nahhhhhh FFS!!!! Do these companies not research any of the people they use to promote their products??.

Julie, who was bateing it up the road last year, approaching a stranger’s workplace because she didn’t like an opinion she had, threatening all sorts, she wasn’t too worried about that lady’s mental health then!

Julie, who was living it large during lockdown partying with her pals and kegs on tap while the rest of us were locked down and struggling with our mental health!

Julie, who is also currently shilling CBD jellies and drinks for mental health!

Julie, who left her 4 year old twins home with Covid with a babysitter and Covid last week so that she could go on the piss!

Julie, who was making Tik Toks in coffins whilst many Irish people were taking their last breath due to a virus that was gripping the world!

Yeah Fettle, now that’s some superb market research!
GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!!!!

(Now I’m sure there’s many more examples to add to the list but I’ve got to go get ready for my real job!)

In all seriousness, if you’re a company, who believes that Julie Haynes is the correct fit for your brand, then it’s time to sit down, crack open a bottle of whiskey and drown your fucking sorrows…. Then liquidate your company and start a new business plan!!!!

I just can’t even fathom how the family must feel having gone from being a reserved and respectful family, to having a late late show dedicated to their daughter two days after she died, before they’ve even had the funeral.

The coverage on this has been way over the top imo and has moved into intrusive territory. Everyone needs to take a step back now and put their own feelings aside and remember there is a family in mourning at the centre of this. I’d imagine they can’t even turn on the tv or radio for a bit of escapism as everything is about their daughter and how everyone else feels that she is gone.

We have completely lost the run of ourselves with this. Let the family mourn their daughter, sister, niece.. and let the Gardai proceed with their investigations. The hysterics on social media and using her to show how sound and virtuous people are needs to stop. I said to my partner last night i know people mean well but if this was a family member of mine I would be so angry and frustrated at how everyone is acting. As a deeply private person I don’t think I would be able to cope.

I would never get vaccinated just so I can go to the pub or a gig. No offence but I see this as being really weak and pretty much falling at the first hurdle. Men gave up their lives to fight in wars and we can’t handle giving up the pub and cafes.
