Actually cannot believe dee’s instagram comments! Even if Nikita was out on a session so was her partner and if she believes it was consensual why are you letting your partner have consensual sex while your sitting at home tending to your children waiting for him to come back to you after he’s done his dirty deeds! Also jaut seen a video of Dee licking his chest in a club and then he pushes her head down to stimulate oral sex and then they start kissing like her behaviour is bizarre! X

So saddened to see this for three reasons:

1) for Nikita and all sexual assault victims, this just horrendous and shame on the US govt for having him.

2) not sure how this point will be received here but here we go - I’m someone who has genuine concerns about the rates of illegal migration into Ireland in recent years. I welcome skilled migrants and a reasonable limit of genuine asylum seekers no problem. It truly warms my heart seeing eg Ukrainian refugees assimilate into the local schools But I am very very concerned about the volume of undocumented men coming into the country in recent years, many of whom are from cultures diametrically opposed to ours and some of whom have voluntarily left their wives and children in their home countries. It makes me very uncomfortable for the future. I know plenty of people in Ireland feel the same way and by having an inarticulate rapist be the spokesperson for this issue on an international stage has done anyone with the same reasonable concerns as myself a massive disservice. I already feel totally disenfranchised in ireland between the loony far left and the loony far right and FF and FG doing f all in the middle. Now anyone with moderate concerns about mass Islamic immigration is going to be tarnished and dismissed as a mcgregor supporter. It makes me so frustrated.

3) feel strangely sad about how the Irish will be viewed in the states after this, and vice versa. Again- potentially unpopular / controversial opinion but I love America. I love so many things about it and the same with ireland. Now the mutual view of each country and its people in politics/popular culture is going to be so tarnished. A very minor point but still sad to see how rapidly things have gone downhill.

In my job i have encountered many vile, scumbags like Mcgregor. The majority of their wives/partners are so beaten down that they believe that they are unworthy and their " man" is godlike... Eventually, with the right support they break away and see sense... BUT.., sometimes ( rarely, i hasten to add ) We come across women like Dee, who actively encourage their "man" and will support him no matter what. They turn the other cheek, know what he's capable of but just don't care.
Dee is not a victim, shes an enabler.

Nikita, this is absolutely monumental for so many women. You are so brave and I thank you for your perseverance.

For every woman who has been paid off, or too scared to stand up to this predator and for every woman in the future who has been saved from his disgusting behaviour.

I imagine we'll see more women come forward with their stories. Hopefully that will encourage the DPP to look at the cases again. Tick tock McGregor.

My best friend went though a similar situation and has the funniest dark humor about it now. Thankfully in her case her scumbag got 4 years and was named, that was all she wanted was him named and all his local GAA buddies could no longer call her a liar

I do wonder if the jury kept the damages low/reasonable so that she wouldn’t be branded an ‘extortionist’ and people could look past the amount and focus on the bigger picture.

I cried listening to Nikita, especially when she mentioned her daughter. Her courage in taking this action is immeasurable. Especially after the DPP not giving the go ahead for a criminal case. That has to have been yet another huge hurdle for her.

Nothing can ever make up to her for what she went through but this is a great day for her. Justice at last.
