Long time lurker on these threads.... I know greedy Katie and Mizzshits IRL and they are worse than they come across online. Both are superior, narcissistic, sycophantic nobheads. I was so happy when I saw these threads to realise I'm not the only one who thinks showing off about how much money you have and monetising your family is gross!

Also, word on the street is all the old peach Palace was done by an interior designer anyway

Genuine question - when she says ‘the hotel is shortsighted for not prioritising families’ - why?? Am I just selfish because I don’t have kids so I don’t get it? Surely the hotel shouldn’t have to prioritise any guests (apart from when there’s a situation where people are paying for different levels of room/service/etc). And of course there will always be genuine and important reasons why people need certain rooms such as disabilities.

I feel like what she really means here is ‘the hotel should prioritise ME because I am more important than everyone).

Urgh. I just don’t get it. WHY do luxury brands send so many freebies to people who are already loaded. I get it’s so they get an advert out of it, but it’s really sickening. Seeing that she’s had gifts from Bloom and Blossom, l’Occitaine, Elemis, This Works, Neom… I really couldn’t live with myself if I was her. I’d be so embarrassed to admit I was accepting all these freebies when I could blatantly afford them myself. Especially when there are those in the country with so little. Taking the new gifted pillows straight down to her second home - I mean really?! How does that sound? How about saying thanks very much, they’re lovely but I don’t really need these, so I’ll be taking them down to the local woman’s refuge/homeless shelter in the morning, along with some of these gorgeous toiletries I’ve been donated. This industry is disgusting.

It's so disrespectful. Obviously this house is dated, and was adapted to meet the needs of a vulnerable person. I'd guess the CCTV in the bedroom was so family could keep an eye on their well-being.

If I were a relative of the previous owner I would be really upset by her insensitive posts

Yes she needs to drop the mocking and nastiness - the lady who lived there was Dame Fanny Waterman. An amazing woman who started the Leeds Piano competition , was a world renowned pianist and teacher who wrote many piano teaching method books and lived to be 100 years old. She did more in her lifetime than Katie ever will and I think lived at home to a late stage in her life. She was still teaching in her 90th year when she was on Desert Island Discs.

Back off Katie and give the woman some respect!

The irony of this all is outstanding.

The last few months alone she has:
Bought a swimming pool
Been to Devon for weeks on end
Been to the Maldives
Been to Morocco
Mini break in the lakes
Skiing
Gifted restaurant meals at Harvey Nics and the Ivy
Free luxury food
Free luxury beauty products.

And yet she’s still complaining.

What on earth would it take for her to show some gratitude?

She has a humungous house and yet still annoyed that the planners aren’t keen on her adding a modern extension just to house a utility room 🙄 I mean just use the bloody space you have!
There is already a utility in the house. A stone extension was added onto the back at some point and a utility was added. I suspect their plans are to take that old extension down, enlarge it and reconfigure the back of that beautiful house. No doubt losing a load of original architectural features along the way (stone mullions, leaded and stained glass windows for a start).

It’s such a beautiful building, I really hope the planners stand firm and don’t allow her to ruin the original structure and the lovely internal period features of the building. Even if they aren’t to an individual’s taste, they should be preserved as the house is of local historical and cultural importance and the house is a particularly ornate and fine example. Those who live in homes like this are custodians of history and should only ever have a light touch. Yes, it should be made safe and comfortable and you don’t have to live in a museum, but that doesn’t mean giving homeowners carte blanche to turn these buildings into shrines to ca pietra and MDF.

Also I know of the person who bought CDTW’s last house. Apparently they’re unravelling a lot of shoddy workmanship, and they also left a a load of dog shit behind 🤮

I really want the current owners of her last place to start an Instagram slagging off the bodge jobs, random design choices and mountains of dog crap in her old house to see how she likes it.

Seriously though she's just vile. It's clearly been a much loved house, it's been adapted to the aging resident and they knew it would need some updating to make it into a home for a young family. Shut up about it you massive fanny.

I agree it's bitter and sulky. So many of them rode the wave - using a FREE platform - gobbling up whatever they could get and thinking they were 'special' due to their echo chambers of validation and arse licking. None of them seemed to consider how precarious their 'employment' situation was or that the bottom could fall out of it at any second. Now all of a sudden it's the fault of the platform! This is why so many 'influencers' are turning to substack and newsletters, to try to get a better direct link to their sheeple. Katie has, yet again, been left way way behind on this because she's too busy moaning about the delay to her swimming pool or not getting gifted a six-figure kitchen.

Bloody annoyed with her latest reel. Why the **** has John Lewis given someone who has 2 houses a dining table?
The same company that has cancelled Christmas events for its staff, who although they have had pay rises often cannot afford to own their own homes and she's being given free bloody furniture?

I am totally flabbergasted by her approach to this pool thing. First of all, John Lewis are ending their price match promise - presumably because it’s no longer viable in such a competitive market.

Also, I don’t think refunding a customer £300 because the item they bought was discounted after they bought it is anything to do with customer service - if every company did this as part of some kind of ‘good customer service’ offering they’d be out of business?! Like, it’s just not a thing!

And finally, how ironic that the company’s response is to try utilise her massive social following to get something out of this situation. She has ‘politely declined’ their offer of £150 back if she shares a positive review, but I’m betting that she mentioned her massive social following when trying to get the refund in the first place - fine for you to leverage your followers for your own gain, but not fine if a company tries to gain something too, is it?!

What a complete embarrassment.

How on earth could they possibly think that prices will come down given the situation with inflation and labour? Is Woody business planning on the basis that dental materials and labour costs will become cheaper in this economic cycle?! Because he's the only one in healthcare who is 😳😳 At a bare minimum, minimum wage goes up each year. Inflation is impacting everyone. So why would a self- employed joiner or plumber or brickie decide to reduce their day rate now?! They have kids and need to buy food just like Katie. They might need to pay apprentices

How can this be a suprise?! It's crackers. We bought a huge renovation like that. We started with architects drawings before we even completed. Wr got the architect/builder and structural engineer in before we even offered and they got to work becasue we decided that if even the estimates were too big then we wouldn't buy it but we needed plans etc for the builder to work too in estimating. They started the process so we were good to start renovations two weeks after we moved in and we went hell for leather because we were worried about rising costs. That's just inflation generally. That was 5 years ago. We spent 18 months with builders in the house and lived in a caravan with a baby and two toddlers. But we knew we had to do it then or we would have seriously disrupted kids' schooling etc. These poor boys will be trying to study in a building site for really important exams with stressed distracted parents. She is an absolute piece of work for doing this - so unbelievably selfish. No proper research or thought. Just want want want. Grab grab grab. The other house was absolutely fine and they had the luxury of the house in Devon or wherever it is. Although I see that's another disaster and they will probably have a a fuck off huge tax bill if they can't rent it out enough each year.

Not selling because "it's meant to be" etc etc. That's sunk cost fallacy in action right there.

The horrible glass box at the back of the house in the designs that is meant to be the kitchen/mezzanine etc is awful. They would be better to do a much smaller extension and reconfigure internally if they are staying. That will save a bit but I suspect it is fixtures and fittings that will cost as no one is gifting and Katie isn't having a kitchen from Howdens - depute th fa these things don't actually look much different in the Instagram photos.

I hope she's not come off the GDC register because she needs to get back grafting three days a week to start paying for all this. There is no way that pitiful instagram "career" can't be done in the remaining 4 days a week. There's nothing to say house wise bar moaning and begging and capping the number of days out eating and drinking free stuff would be advisable for anyone's health. Even if you bloody hate dentistry or whatever, do it for your children. So they have a decent living environment that they can flourish in and engaged parents. Are a few free skin care products, all you can eat vol au vents from Waitrose and some tent dresses really worth not giving them that?

I think the problem is that they can't sell the Smurf House as they would make a loss

They are asset rich but cash poor - cash flow is the problem as the renovations appear to be csoting much more than they thought. The holidays to Iceland or wherever are a piss in the ocean compared to what they need so cutting back on them woukd probably make no material difference. Plus Drippy is working hard whilst living in a freezing cold dump. It might be 3k feet but it's still a dump. So he probably feels that to keep on working as he is and bringing in some money, he needs a holiday in somewhat more pleasant surroundings. I have some sympathy on that point

I think the house was previously bought by a developer who offloaded it when they realised how much work there would be. He or she must have been thrilled when tunnel vision Katie appeared again to buy it. It clearly never occurred to her wonder why the developer was offloading it so quickly - mistake one. Mistake two occurred when she bought it without carefully costingeverything as she assumed she would get lots of things for free. To date it seems she has got some free furniture from John Lewis and possibly a subsidised rat catcher visit. She also seemed to be entirely unaware of the impact that Covid and Brexit would have re material and labour costs. So she's now been caught with her pants down but just can't quite give up the dream that some business, somewhere, will gift her a free extension. They just haven't seen her account yet. And also because Katie believes she DESERVES the full scale luxe no expense spared with a pool reno. Once she lets go of those two debilitating fallacies, she can deal in reality and the art of the possible. Let's just hope it happens before her children leave home but I have my doubts, sadly. What would assist the family funds and getting things moving would be if Katy rolled her sleeves up and went back to work a few days a week - but that's clearly never going to happen

“I can only reccomend [sic] a company I get food [sic] service from”. Oh the irony 🤣

Your rights? You have no rights to get a reduction just because something has gone into the sale AFTER you have bought it, erected it and used it. You agreed to buy it at the price it was advertised at. Presumably there was no prior correspondence to the sale saying that the company would give a reduction after the sale of the price was reduced. It could have been returned and then repurchased but it’s been put up now

The company does have a right not to be defamed on social media - so I would be quite careful about staying that I had not received “good service” from a company who had supplied a product to me at a price that I had agreed as it is pretty easy to work out whom it was bought from.

I really do hope that previous punters at the holiday home get in touch and demand a discount whilst threatening (because, let's be honest, that's what it is) to tell a huge number of people that they received “poor customer service” when Katy just complied with the contract they willingly entered into. Given that her husband works in dentistry and will live in fear of vexatious complaints like every other dentists in the UK, I just hope he doesn’t meet a patient like this because karma is a real bitch.

This is all totally disgusting to be honest - she has clearly been moping around for days about not getting a freebie holiday and has spent more than the money it would have cost going to center parks on a huge paddling pool, horrible clothes, a blow dry and a whole lot of unnecessary accessories for an ooni pizza oven. I have one and there is no way you need that industrial pizza topping thing. A really unpleasant person who will no doubt get this wholly undeserved discount but appears blissfully ignorant of how this all appears as it is played out on stories.

She probably would have got the discount if she had posted it saying here is the company, they were amazing and now the pool is reduced by £300. I’m so pleased for my followers and hope it makes it more affordable for you all. I am sure the company would have been delighted. Instead, two take aways:

1. Hi, my lovely followers. You are the bed rock of my business but I am not willing to help you and your children out by sharing a link to a pool that you have politely requested as I demand a unwarranted discount and am currently holding the company to ransom. My need for a £300 discount is much more important than giving back to all of you who support me. Oh by the way, have I mentioned my £6k a week holiday home you should all be booking?!

2. Hi, any other brands/companies that want to work with me. I will agree terms and conditions with you. When you comply with these, I will unilaterally change them and then publicly accuse you of poor customer service on my huge Instagram platform before you have even had a chance to respond to my correspondence. I am not interested in supporting or building your brand or any type of ongoing relationship but only on what I can get for myself for free - whether fairly or not - and will attempt to cause you immediate public relations issues if you don’t comply with my unreasonable demands.

It’s really quite sad that someone with so much can only ever focus on what she doesn’t have instead of what she does. She has four healthy children, a husband with his own business, two £1m+ houses, goes on free / heavily subsidised holidays that most families of six couldn’t dream of, regular freebies, a business that allows her to pick her kids up from school and be off with them during the holiday. I could go on. And yet it’s just moan, moan, moan that she can’t have a swimming pool in her garden.
