Martin Frizzell and Fiona Phillips.
This made me feel sorry for her tbh. What he says seems unkind and almost blaming her 🙁 He seems irritated.

Have to say the hate for Camilla is so mad. Both Charles and Diana were victims of their upbringing and family expectations. It was a travesty he wasn’t allowed to marry Camilla. It only hit me last few days what a true love story Charles and camilla actually is. I felt quite emotional yesterday for them both, could see her pride and his too. It’s awful about Diana and of course there were terrible things on all sides but I just can’t get with the hate for them both. It’s a bit shit but that’s cos we all know every detail that the tabloids found for us to pick over that suited their agenda. If we knew every detail of every ones elses’ life I’m sure we’d be equally disgusted for many other reasons. Pretty sure all these haters are NOT so FUCKING PERFECT !!! Makes my blood boil tbh
Other thing that’s stuck me this weekend is the people banging on about his inherited privilege etc. Well, some ppl I know were lucky enough to be born into wealth, had private schooling, paid for university fees, so their privilege is RELATIVE to what Charles had/has. The country is fucked by the shite government we have and the whole country and world needs to pull together to change things for those in need and displaced.

Sorry rant over.

I think there’s a world of difference between a child sex abuser and an entitled ginger twat who feels hard done by.

I don’t like either man but Harry’s only guilty of absurd stupidity. Andrew should be in prison.

Just to draw a line under all the cancer chat and the fallout from treatment. I think going through it shines a spotlight like no other in your relationship. If cracks are already there they can become gaping chasms rapidly. Pleased to report though that not only do some relationships survive, they thrive. My husband was an absolute rock. Fairly depressed reading some of the recent posts! And I’m doing fine too

There must be loads of people who were nearly run over by Ant. Come on, spill the beans!
Not Ant but I was very nearly run over by Mike Reid (from Children's TV Runaround - or if you’re younger, Eastenders fame. Plus rumoured to be a comedian)
The very weak tea (transparent almost) is that in the mid 80s my family lived down the road from his family. I was a very young girl, riding my fold up shopper bike into the village (I had so wanted a grifter or bmx but it was the 80s and I got the stereotypical girls bike, with basket!) said bike had a habit of folding itself up whilst you were riding it and on this occasion whilst I was cycling up the steep hill into the village, it started its fold and I fell off my bike into the road and cut up all my elbows and knee. As I lay on the floor I heard a car revving up the hill and saw a Rolls Royce screech to a halt. It was Mike Reid, he bibbed his horn, gestured for me to get out the road then drove around me shaking his head. I’ve never liked him since!
(To add salt in the wound, my parents would still not get me a new bike. It wasn’t until my bike was ‘mysteriously’ stolen a year or so later. It was then replaced with a second hand racer which hurt my lady parts so much I only ever rode it twice and I’ve avoided bikes ever since. Thank you for coming to my ‘This is my life’ story 😂)

Hang on, Linda Robson referred to herself as national treasure? As much as I enjoyed the early days of BOAF, she's hardly that. OK then I'm going to refer to myself as Cindy Crawford if we're going down that road of self delusion!
Bless her, she's not even a regional trinket.

I honestly don’t understand why Linehan is so het up about Trans people. He is forever getting into online fights over it. It is so intense it comes across as something of an obsession.

I’m not sure what I think about Trans women using female loos. Personally I’m not really bothered but I do understand how it might be an issue for some.

Not sure what to make of Eddie Izzard. For years he was adamant that he was not transgender but a straight male who was a transvestite. Now he’s identifying as a trans woman and wanting to be addressed as she. I know people can change their mind about their gender/sexuality but EI’s decision seems to have come about rather late in life. There’s a tiny part of me wonders if it’s genuine Or some sort of publicity seeking manoeuvre links to his political ambitions. 🤷‍♀️ I like EI by the way. Love his humour, like his politics and he does a lot of charitable work.
If you have been a victim of domestic violence, raped, or sexually assaulted by a man you may think differently. You may not have a problem sharing safe spaces with men, but that is unfortunately not the case for many women.

It is not all about 'trans women' (aka men) accessing Womens toilets, it's also about keeping them out of other women's safe spaces eg Womens hospital wards, changing rooms and prisons.

Does anyone else think Bill Wyman gets off way too lightly compared with other celebs, for dating Mandy Smith when she was 13. She was exploited by him and her own mother. The Stones and their wives didn't ostracise him as far as I know.

My mum’s dating advice when I was younger was
1) The older the fiddle the better the tune
2) Better to be an old man’s darling than a young man’s slave
3) Find yourself a rich old man with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana skin

I can only speak for myself, but in my family, this was the norm. And for those that lived in the same circumstances we did.I dare say it sounds strange to other people.
Although my memory doesn’t go back as far as 1980 (born 1978) but I do remember some of the early 80s and not many people had showers fitted in their bathrooms back then. It was just a bath. If you wanted to wash your hair you had to fit one of those rubber hosed shower head attachments to the bath taps and hold the shower head over your head as you leaned over the bath. They were very temperamental as one of the rubber attachments would always pop off one of the taps so you risked scalding yourself with hot water or freezing with cold water

What was he offered it for, if you're comfortable answering?
No, I don’t mind. He was a doctor in Africa during WW2 and then worked with children with severe learning disabilities and Downs Syndrome. One of his bosses nominated him without telling him and when he found out my Grandad was apparently livid!
He basically turned it down because he was Irish and got treated like absolute shit when he first came over here, and because he fundamentally disagreed with the honours system. It’s also fair to say he wasn’t exactly a fan of the royals.

Does anyone remember on the earlier threads where someone came on here and told us that Boris was actually very seriously ill with Covid and was about to be admitted to hospital when it was still be played down? I can’t remember if it was the same person, but they also told us Matt Hancock was having or had an affair with one of his staff (a different one). I wonder if they’ve got any more goss? Specifically about the Gove/Vine marriage.

Very minor tea but several years ago a friend used to work in airport security at Heathrow where they check passports.
Nicole Sherzinger came through and when my friend asked her occupation she said ‘Judge.’ 🤣
Yeah love...I think X factor judge is a bit different to actual judge!

Ok so it's not gossip as such but I suppose everyone wants to know what celebrities are *really* like, don't they, so I have a few.

I met tonnes of people through work, I mentioned Tara Palmer Tompkinson earlier. But the most interesting people I met were as part of my social life! I moved straight from Cork City in Ireland to a grotty flat in Camden Town when I was 18. Let me tell you- talk about a culture shock. I desperately wanted to live there because I wanted to work in PR and live my best Eddie and Patsy life 😌 I worked in PR for 15 years! A girl from my course took me out to the hawley arms with her brother who was in a band that never made about 2 months into my time there and that was it. I was part of the Camden set from then on.

Most of my friends were people like me, blow-ins and gothy or hippy students but through various connects and people dating some camden mainstays, I mixed with quite a few familiar faces. One of my best friends still is one of those faces, a comedian I suppose you'd call him back then, and through him I met all sorts. Some of whom are still close friends or where until they sadly passed away so I won't mention them, of course. The eagle eyed among you will see which names are missing 😌It was quite the scene. Awful at times and a lot of the time people were there just to be there. But I also had a lot of fun. So here goes:

Pixie and Peaches Geldof: i mentioned in a thread about peaches that these girls where even a little too much for me. Especially peaches she always went a step too far and she was very rude to a lot of my friends. More interested in partying that people Pixie used to go out with a friend of mine but when they broke I didn't see her much. She is more into thr fashiony trendy places whereas I was more of a slummer except for going to after parties. She always hung out with people much older than her. I've met her through a mutual friend a few times over the last few years and she's mellowed out a lot. She is easy to talk to but has never been in the real world so isn't very grounded.

Amy Winehouse: The sweetest person. I can't even quite put into words how lovely she was. She had a wonderful soul. I met her many times and while I wouldn't say we were friends, we were acquaintances and she always made time for everyone.

James Cordon: not a member of the camden set but I met him once when he was dating Lily Allen. Everything you assume about him is true. Haven't got much nice to say about him.

Lily Allen: Lily is one of the funniest people I've ever met. Cute as a button too.

Kate Moss: she was my idol, as mentioned upthread, and you know what they say, don't meet your heroes. Seemed to be clinging on to what NME deemed to be cool at the time to keep her face out there.

Peter Doherty: the worst person. End of. Thinking about him makes me angry.

Nick Grimshaw: too fucking cool 🤣 I could never warm to him but he's alright.

Leigh Francis: again, not really a camden person but he's been around a few shows. couldn't be further from his Alter Ego. Really sound

Johnny Borrell: actually very nice. Nothing bad to say about him. He could get messy but who among us didn't. He used to go out with Kirstin Dunst and brought her in one night which was exciting.

Alex Turner: I think he *tried* to be boring but he was nice enough. Very serious and can actually be quite argumentative.

Daisy Lowe: a very bubbly person, gets a lot shit in the papers but she's a lot of fun. She wasn't as much of a party animal. Very cautious and I respected that about her. Haven't seen her in years.

I can't think of anyone else at the minute! If you are curious about anyone from the 2000s 2010s camden set or want more on the above, I might have something to say.

Some new but very old goss is about Martine McCuthcheon when she was in the stage production of 'My Fair Lady'(in 2003).

Due to her illness (she would ring up about 1 hour before and say she was too ill, but then would be seen in a London bar knocking back pink gins), Jonathan Pryce apparently told her that she couldn't keep behaving that way, as it was unfair on the audience whom had paid to see her, unfair on the production team, and unfair on the understudies and the rest of the cast who never knew whom they would performing with.

Her reply?

'Stars on the way up, won't take advice from stars on the way down'.

Jonathan Pryce has been nominated for an Oscar in his latest film, where as Martine was last seen advertising Activia yoghurt.........
I have to respond to this with some tea. My cousin used to run a club in London where all the celebs went to for a while. Paris Hilton and the like. Anyway, one time Martine McCuthcheon was there totally off her tits...to the point she shat herself and there was poo everywhere. My cousin said they had to literally wrap her in bin bags before they could get a take to take her home, it was so bad.

I honestly hope that Lisa is reading this thread and sees how much support she has after the constant abuse from the tabloids. I find it sickening that Ant is carrying on with his life, celebrating his (sketchy) engagement etc and the papers are still banging on about Lisa.

Lisa, if you’re reading, spill the beans!

Ok I didnt read it so didnt know the content. But there is only one reason why ' man splits up from his wife and then get another girlfriend months later' is a story and that is to make Lisa look bad and for another opportunity to mention the million divorce ( half, which is what she is entitled to)
I wish people would just leave Lisa alone. What she has been subjected to in the media is horrendous. She can’t do anything right in their eyes. People constantly having digs saying she has to move on, she moves on and they are now doing this to her.

She supported Ant all through his career and probably would have stood by him through his driving disaster. She then had her heart broken and is publicly humiliated when she’s dumped for their ex pa/friend.

I think is says a lot about her that she refused to sign a gagging order but has chosen to stay silent.

I wish her all the happiness in the world and enjoys her well deserved divorce settlement.
