They really are so delusional, saying they “aren’t there yet” in reference to that vocational school. Seriously, she’s not able to understand the mechanics involved in blowing her nose! She’s definitely not going to be able to go out into the workforce. Will they ever be realistic about her abilities and accept her for who she is?

Also hi, I’m new here! I actually started out liking the family and their YouTube channel, but slowly kept noticing little things that just seemed off, and what really got me was the birthday video where Prisszilla gave her a kit to do her nails rather than something she’d actually LOVE AND ENJOY, like a soft toy that plays music. It’s heartbreaking that she values her fantasy of having a neurotypical daughter more than the actual daughter she has!

I’m a writer and crazy hedgehog lady. (My hedgies are me heart! I only have one at the moment, my sweet girl Quillemina. But I’m always taking in rescues.

P: Well. After my husband gets up and dresses and feeds our daughter and brings me my coffee, I sit up and have my first fart of the day.
I pick out a thuper cute dress and we make our way to the shower and get hosed off. I had the meat sweats last night, but my Bamboo Renew handles that well! I make my way downstairs one foot and fart at a time and decide that Atha needs to make us 1st breakfast. Something light because its SO hot in Florida. French toast, floppy bacon, eggs with cheddar, goat cheese, feta and colby jack. No toast. Wouldnt want to start the day with extra carbs!I
We'll have brunch by the pool. Gotta Facetime my boy to let him know he's expected- everyone must sit by the pool if I do. Safety first ya'll.
If I slip on the pool deck and bonk my head Atha will need help. And he serves my drinks!
Later, we'll take a family trip to Lowes where I'll stay in the car and eat some snackths so the car can stay cool. I dont want Atha to get hot and tired, because he is smoking half a brontosaur for family dinner.
While Atha and Isaiah are fixing the gate, cleaning the house, caring for Abbie I am resting on the couch. Ive been filling your carts and need to rest before I make the salad and Texasth Toast.
My mom and Wayne are coming, and he'll have us rolling with laughter about the time he accidentally used a colored restroom! His heart is so pure ya'll, he was shook let me tell you!!
After family dinner I'll wipe the counters and supervise as Atha, Abbie and Isaiah clean-up. I cant tolerate a dirty kitchen ya'll, its exhausting! I'll have a few more drinks, some nibbles and start prepping to climb the stairs. Its going to be a suthper busy day, but you all know how I hustle! You can do this too! Hey guys, am catching up on posts, but I just wanted to ask if you could send up some prayers / healing vibes / whatever you believe in for my uncle. He was airlifted to a specialty ICU last night for a cerebral hemorrhage. So far his condition is exactly what they want to see the day after a bleed like that...but obviously he has a long way to go, and he already has a bunch of other health issues that complicate things.

My grandson is 3. Hes been able to put clothes on for over a year. All we and OT had to do was teach him front and back, and inside/out.
He can now nail it about 80% of the time, and when he doesnt, its usually because hes just trying to rush. What the hell have they done with her for all these years?! And why isnt anyone (humpers new and old) questioning this?

Oh and did anyone hear that Know-it-All Asa tell Wayne that he could use his new fish fryer to boil seafood?! WTF?!

Exactly! I'm 51 and my 3 year old autistic grandson lives with me. (and his mom, my youngest daughter)
He is light years ahead of Abbie, but I am stressed and exhausted all of the time. My daughter, frankly, is immature and Bipolar. She never should have had a child to begin in my opinion. She can barely control her own emotions and has zero patience with him. She is not abusive, I dont mean that, but she just gives up, never follows through, etc. She doesnt understand him or autism, no matter how many times something is explained to her. She thinks he "should know better."
I actually started counseling a few weeks ago. I work all day, I am still struggling physically with mobility from my spinal issues, and then I come home to a trashed house, my daughter "venting" he did this or this. The problem is, the thought of her moving out and being his only caregiver terrifies me. The idea of being his forever caregiver terrifies me.
Just venting all, thank you.

Developmental DELAY is only a valid diagnosis before the age of 5-8. At Abbie's age, it's a developmental DISABILITY or, more accurately, an intellectual disability.
She does not have a developmental delay. You know it, your wife knows it, we all know it.
Just be honest. Have enough respect for the only daughter you acknowledge to be honest.

I wanted to say that a lot of people have come down on the teacher and I understand it. She is totally underwhelming, but you can only work with what you’ve got. I feel sorry for her. I would never take that job under any circumstances.
I have a son on the spectrum which led to my interest but he’s in college now and completely independent except for tuition. Not a case like Abbie’s but this is like watching a trash fire. BURN BABY BURN.

Hey, Assa and Tinkerhog!! I’m on my way to Heidelberg University right now to watch my kid graduate from a masters program with a Latin degree. In four years he has kept a 3.9 grade point average. And he went to a regular high school where he was named one of the kids to watch for. And started on his football team varsity in both high school and university as a freshman. He’ll be enrolled in his doctorate classes in the fall, after he and two of his siblings take a trip to Italy. Let me hear more about how successful Isaiah is.
