Such a shame it was deleted already. It was a very nicely crafted thought provoking comment. Anne and Mawk are becoming more and more repulsive.

What the hello is the difference between Anna newton, icovettee, pebble and (similar) other British lifestyle influencers style? They look the same: grey, beige, long coats, jumpers, baggy trousers, ugly retro sunglasses, heavy looking (black) boots, the same gold jewellery everyone on IG owns... what fashion? It's just a specific style that's on repeat. Now that's winter you can experiment with various shades of scarves, hats, gloves, boots. But no. We all know they will add zero colour to their ootd. Gosh, they must take themselves so seriously posing in those unwiped mirrors. How awfully dull and passe. Maybe it's the fashion most prefer but how...yawn.... how boring. They must struggle to stay awake.

She goes on about squeezing in her workouts, not having time to buy food, juggling childcare etc. It's all rubbish. She's extremely privileged and wealthy with none of the everyday worries most people face.

I’m in finance/tech and earn 70k at 28 but with the hours I work sometimes, my hourly rate is probably abysmal haha. Totally acknowledge how unfair it is for some industries to get paid more than others - also in my profession they tend to only hire from certain universities, which in itself is driven by so many factors like your childhood environment, family economic circumstances, access to information about universities etc. Can go on and on about the gap and acknowledge my own privilege but yeah, even as someone earning a relatively high salary, I am so annoyed watching people like Anna and Lily (who can’t even spell or proofread their 50 word Instagram captions) buy houses in their 20s, something I won’t be able to do for a while as a single woman who lives in London.

It also BLOWS my mind that their idea of a long hard day at work is “Check emails. Workout. Make lunch. Finish at 4pm”. I’m not saying they should walk away from this obviously easy money, but I think about all the things I would do if I had all that spare time - learn a language (maybe Lily could converse with her foreign Uber pool pals then!), READ all the books, do a part-time degree, etc. I’m already trying to do some of that in a 50-60 hour work week so I know it can be done when you “work” ~5 hours a day. Rant over, thank you for coming to my Ted talk! Btw I’ve had a really stressful week and these forums have made me laugh while scrolling at night trying to get to sleep so thank you for that haha.

New video so so boring. Felt like she’s already spoken about and shown everything (even the plan for the kitchen she already talked about so it was just showing what she had described before).
Definite digs at Lily throughout. Wanting to live with the space and not rush. Spare freezer in the utility. Renovating the windows being a priority. Not wanting to do quick paint jobs etc. Those two are not getting on or at least it’s a pretty toxic friendship 👀👀👀

Something really bugging me lately is that influencers mention the item they are wearing and provide an affiliate link without saying where it’s from. So you have to swipe up just to see what brand it is. I swear they didn’t used to do this a year or so ago and have now started. Anna has done it so often recently - I find it really sneaky and so clearly about getting cookies into your browser. I refuse to swipe up on anything like this. Maybe I would swipe up more if she said where it was from in the story itself! Grrr

I think it’s in very poor taste to put a IG story all about your gifted food, just about you’ve done a story on donating to food banks. So many children are going to go starving or have very little this year especially due to the pandemic.
I disagree entirely. She was hardly bragging about getting gifted food. She was encouraging other people to donate to food banks to directly address the problem you’ve highlighted. She’s clearly mindful of how lucky she is and that others are less fortunate. She made an EXTRA donation on top of her usual monthly donations to reflect that fact.

Not accepting the gifted meal means it just would have gone to waste or another influencer who wouldn’t have made a donation and the food bank wouldn’t have got the money. I think it’s a really nice way to enjoy the perks of her job while being mindful about her position as well as using her platform to encourage donations.
