I expected so much more, it’s a gorgeous home and I’m really happy for them. I would of course looooove that house myself compared to my little flat that I have. BUT, like someone above said given they’ve had so much time to put money aside and considering their huge earnings, I just thought it was going to be much bigger and more impressive personally. The upstairs was literally tiny ?! Every room looked a bit bigger than a “box” room and the bathrooms were sooooo fcking small. It is actually quite a basic big standard new build, I literally have friends with similar sized / looking houses and they aren’t rich influencers 😐

I keep seeing new builds with more bathrooms and bedrooms than there really was room for. Squeezing 4 beds into what should be 2 plus a box room doesn't make the space more usable.

I wonder why that is, I guess because they can say “4 bedroom” regardless of size and add the bathrooms on too… it seems more impressive but it’s smaller space…

I don’t think all influencers are rich. This is also their first home and not their “forever home”
For me it totally makes sense to get a property this size for now and upsize later

The house is actually impressive for where they live. Alti and the surrounding areas are really expensive. I’m guessing that why they said they went for location. That house would probably be half its price somewhere less desirable

I was going to say the same ... Having lived in Cheshire area, this will have cost a lot still! Fair play to them for just being relatively normal with this I think.

I’d say they were at the max of their budget , no other reason it’s not more extravagant 😂 it wasn’t an intentional decision

Definitely. They would absolutely have gone for a mini Molly Mansion if they'd had the funds. Sergeant in the army isn't great income (£35-50k I believe, based on seniority and length of service and Danny was relatively young), and Zoe is self employed with variable income and won't have 3 years of self employed bank statements to show. She was moaning (makes a change) about not being able to get a mortgage earlier in the year. They must have had a helping hand to even buy this with max mortgage.

A new home that size in that area could go for up to £650k if it was high end finishing. Let's say theirs did? So a minimum deposit of £32,500. But for a better mortgage deal you'd want a £65k deposit. That still leaves a mortgage of £585k. If we assume Danny was on max sergeant wage he would only be offered £225k loan. Which still leaves £360k to be borrowed.

Wonder if Danny told the mortgage company he was quitting his Army job.

Its amazing that mortgage company's give them to self employed influencers as it's such a fickle business.

Imagine how much Zoe had saved living at mollys eating her weekly Tesco delivery. She will have been able to save alot with minimal living expenses. Especially after buying that ridiculous car

One of the top comments said “finally a very realistic first home” and it has 4 bathrooms😂 im too eastern european for this.
My first house was a two bed semi and tbh most of my friends were the same or had flats. These influencers starting out with 4 bed detached houses and acting as though that’s the norm are ridiculous.

Their house was recently removed from the estate agents website, and it wasn’t far off of a mill. They definitely chose area!

But with the army they gave you a payment of a years wage towards house deposit

They have done really well to buy their own house. I just can’t see how either of their careers are sustainable.

No they dont, you can borrow (interest free mind which is good) 50% of your annual salary to put towards buying a house- for deposit, solicitors etc. So not bad, but definitely not just a years payment!

The bathrooms thing seems to be a general thing now, my friends with new builds around half have more toilets than bedrooms which seems wild.

the process it is a full year salary doesn’t need repaid unless you leave army before serving your full time
