The first holiday I ever went on turned out to be a nightmare probably as my family had very little experience of going abroad at that time. It was probably about 16 years ago, I’m 23 now so was quite little then, my aunties boss had an apartment in Tenerife, my family had no idea how to go on at the airport so I remember that being stressful in itself, we arrived at the apartment that was (to us) like a millionaires paradise, everything was marble and really fancy. I went with my brother, mum, auntie and her son, they wouldn’t let us touch anything, we didnt dare turn on the air con unless we broke it so the apartment was stifling inside, we ended up going I think in November and it rained nearly every day. One day we decided to venture into the next town which was like a derelict city, no idea where that would have been as I have since been back to Tenerife and it’s lovely 
so the day trip was like stepping into a war zone with pulled down buildings in the middle of no where. I remember going in the bath and accidentally sticking my toes in a plug hole or socket of some kind (I think it was a jacuzzi bath) and it tripped the electrics for the whole building lol! Funny memories looking back but it was very stressful.
