I found yesterday's really tough too, the double letters got me. Took me the 6 attempts to get it. I got today's in 3 goes which is my best effort so far. I think it's down to luck and the first word you try. I just wish we could play previous ones too, I'm too impatient to wait each day

I'm (potentially) really upset as Wordle has been sold to the The New York Times, which is behind a pay wall. They say it will be free initially for people already using it but I think that will change

People will just stop playing as someone else will make a free one.

Does anyone have ‘hard mode’ on? - ie any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses.

In some ways I think it’s a waste of a go to not use all hints, whereas sometimes it makes it easier to enter a word that you know is wrong (eg because you know a certain letter isn’t in the word) as it gives additional hints.

I occasionally ‘waste’ a hint if I’m really stuck and want to just eliminate some more letters and that means using one I know isn’t there

NY Times bought Wordle yesterday. They say it will be free etc but at some point I think they will monetise it in some way.
