Yeah I see people without cancer having chemo, immunotherapy and crazy blood products and things at the cancer clinic.

How very sad
Good for you and I’m pleased for those people you personally know, but the NHS is famously a postcode lottery - or just your luck in general - if you don’t understand that, that’s very naive
No it’s the opposite, I’m not sad, I fully don’t give a f**k. If you want to feel sad watch a Ken Loach film, I watched I Daniel Blake the other day and was moved to put sanitary towels in the food bank collection box at tescos, if you’ve seen the film you’ll understand. That’s where my compassion needs to be and is being spent.
My daughter is having her second operation today for stage 4. This video was beautiful and perfectly timed as it says there’s light at the end of the tunnel. We need that bit of hope today. My daughter has received the most neglectful treatment on the NHS and as someone said it really is a post code lottery. But I don’t care if you are a Princess, rich or poor, cancer is tit, no matter who you are.

I don't know how you're not angry that your daughter gets tit care whilst kate gets the slickest treatment ever, simply by virtue of marrying some bloke who apparently will lord it over us some day.
The adoration is so so strange.
It is because she is royal that she receives the best and it is not her fault others are not receiving the same best cancer care as her. Whether she is royal or a mum from down the road cancer doesn't care it can kill anyone. So I'd be happy for any young mum of 3 to let people who care about her know that she has finished chemo and is beginning to find a bit of light and start to look forward to hopefully a long and healthy future.
I think placing the anger onto Kate is stupid. The problems of the NHS are not the doing of the RF or having a class system (which every country has in one way or another, nothing to do with having a RF or an upper class full of aristocrats).
I also think that the energy is better spent on dealing with the situation if you are in the midst of it.
But I absolutely think that being angry has a place. But it’s really the governments job to clean that tit up (I don’t think any government has done a good job in the last decades). I wish that Kate would abandon her lacklustre Early Years campaign and rather put the little time she does work into Charities and Projects around Cancer. It would feel extremely sincere- something her EY focus often lacks of. Supporting Hospices, charities that support family members - she could easily make the connection to the children that have a parent having or having died of cancer, she could talk about how crucial it is to have early detection, quick and available treatment and support in the day to day life (childcare, help in the home, compensation for salary to be able to fully concentrate on healing instead of worrying about expenses….). She doesn’t have to be all political but rather stress the importance. Acknowledging her privilege and championing that everyone deserves the same.
The reality is, that in every country there are people that get better/quicker treatment than others and it is always a question of class/financial resources. I doubt we will ever get a 100% fair distribution but all our countries should and can do better.
Any young mum with a cancer diagnosis is a tragedy as far as I’m concerned. Major abdominal surgery followed by chemotherapy is a lot to recover from, add to that the pressures of the media speculation and public interest, you wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I hope she continues to be cancer-free and eventually cured.
I don’t know for certain but she looks to be a very hands-on mum so why shouldn’t she work part time! And after all her health issues I wouldn’t blame her if she took a total step back. I know the RF are there at the taxpayers expense, but honestly I think they are so intrinsic to this country, I really couldn’t imagine the U.K. without them!

My daughter has had ‘tit care’ in comparison to a lot of other people who have used the NHS. I didn’t say I wasn’t angry, I am. I can’t be angry at Kate because my daughter’s doctor can’t get his act together and so many mistakes have been made. So many others have had excellent care from the NHS, as I say it’s a post code lottery. If you are a celebrity you get better treatment too, take Amy Dowden from Strictly. She’s been through hell and has thankfully come out the other side. Am I angry she was gifted holidays, wigs, trips, spas etc to make her feel better? Of course not. Kate would’ve had excellent private care whether she married William or not because her family is wealthy. Why should I be angry at that. If I had that kind of money I’d make sure my daughter was seen privately too. We do what we can for our children. I’m glad Kate’s recovering. We can’t play the comparison game it doesn’t help.
It’s a balance though right? I remember my mum saying that when she was in hospital the private chemo ward was next to the NHS one, and the people looked just as scared, just as ill in both. Cancer is cancer. Yes she hasn’t had to worry about paying her bills or taking time off work, but she has had to worry about international media scrutiny and speculation for 9 months. It’s not like she’s had it easy. She’s not the first person or mother of young children to have cancer, but she is the first to have to go through it within the pressure cooker of the royal family the press spotlight. Even Charles as Head of State was granted more privacy and grace than her

It's beautiful, slick and did make me a bit emosh. We are all impacted by Cancer in one way or another and so it hits home..how it can impact families. I like some of the sentiments and it feels like a snapshot into the love they have for each other.
On the other hand I feel it actually reminds you of a them and us mentality, cancer is weird and brutal. We can't all have a perfect picnic, stare off into the distance with the sun shining on our faces. It did seem a little cheesy in parts the leaning on the tree, the butterfly.... PR machine wheels turning!
But hey ho they are the Royal Family and you can love them and accept you don't all at the same time!

I was a bit surprised how "romantic" the video was, the butterfly, leaning against the tree, the whole vibe.
She usually presents herself more down to earth and sporty, instead of the butterfly I would have expected her to harvest berries or pick apples or flowers.
But maybe she is more cheesy than I thought she was, it is all just my perception anyway.

I think she was showing happy times over summer with her kids, relaxing sharing a ‘normal’ summer with them after probably a really awful year so far. There was an element of cheese to it, that doesn’t sit right with me, but I have never been through major abdominal surgery and cancer with 3 young children and the worlds media watching me and scrutinising me and my family and accusing my husband of all sorts whilst I was trying to navigate it all.

Things can go wrong with private healthcare just as they can with NHS and of course people can die of cancer whether they have access to private healthcare or not.

It only tends to be consultant grade doctors who do private work though so you’re more likely to get a more experienced more highly qualified doctor if you go private. Private healthcare is of course quicker but anyone with a cancer diagnosis in the NHS is treated as a priority. Also some private patients have to have treatment in NHS facilities as private hospitals don’t always have intensive care units and radiotherapy facilities etc. some complex surgeries can only be done in nhs hospitals as (paradoxically) they’re the only ones equipped to do them.
Someone on here said she could throw herself into charity work around cancer/healthcare and I fully agree. Work with McMillan and trips to hospices plus pushing the importance of early detection and screening programmes etc. I think princess Anne leads on the NHS stuff but she could hand it over to Catherine.

Don’t fret she’ll be part time, she was before the cancer and will continue to be. Just can’t resist pointing out queen elizabeth II died on 8th September 2022, almost 2 years ago to the day and worked almost to her dying breath. Indeed through her 75 year reign she always put her public role first even when she had four young children (one more than WandC). Of course she was born into a different era but it doesn’t appear her tireless work ethic and dedication to duty rubbed off much on her descendants.
