People are mad at M&H statement.
So what would be the perfect statement?
No statement?
A longer one?

I do think they found out when we did
Yeah, to me it points to the lack of relationship between the two brothers at the moment rather than anything else.

"Sorry to hear this, we hope she recovers soon" is about as much as you can muster up if you're not speaking to them or if they're not speaking to you. Could maybe send well wishes to the kids as well, but realistically I think bringing up the kids is a risky move considering how Harry's previously spoken about them, would only set W/K off.

I hope she's had a PET scan, are they still the best for early detection/secondary still?
No they're not. They're good for looking for solid metastasis, but you're not going to see the teeny microscopic cells that they're likely going after here. I'm sure she's had one though.

Perhaps a silly question, but what is the consensus––if there is one––on what happened between the brothers/couples and how they treat each other nowadays? No more contact behind closed doors? No phone calls, like, ever?

I guess it's a valid scenario that Harry actually only found out what had and was going to happen today just before the video was released––if at all.

What stinks? I am absolutely gutted for princess Kate and her family, without all the bizarre rumours she would just have been left alone to digest this massive diagnosis and to be with her family.

Kate has never courted the press, she has been a good wife and mother, and excited to have her as our future queen. She has done herself proud and seems beautiful inside and out.

Cancer is cruel, it is evil. I hope princess Kate recovers and is fighting strong to get over this x

I knew I had bowel cancer before my surgery as a tumour had shown up during a colonoscopy. After my hemicolectomy (half my bowel removed), pathology showed cancer cells in one of the 25 lymph glands that they had removed. Both the surgeon and oncologist said that they were sure that all traces of cancer were removed but, as the oncologist described it, I underwent chemotherapy as "belt and braces" to make sure that no cells had spread beyond the lymph gland. It sounds like Kate had surgery for something else, whatever was removed was sent to the pathologist, and it was there that cancer cells were discovered.

I had six cycles of preventative chemo, both infusions and tablets. My hair thinned by about a third but I had no bald patches and still have my waist-length hair. I slept for Scotland, at one point waking up on the sofa with my crochet hook and yarn still in my hands as I'd keeled over sideways between one stitch and the next and slept for several hours. I even slept during an infusion! I had rashes and nausea too - I didn't lose weight because I constantly nibbled to keep the nausea at bay. Twelve months after my last cycle, I'm still fatigued and exhausted. One ankle is still swollen and a rash discoloration left on my leg. Kate will no doubt be exhausted and could well be feeling aftereffects for a long time. Just because chemo is preventative doesn't mean that it's not gruelling. A year on from chemo ending and eighteen months after my surgery, I'm still classed as immunocompromised and getting all the vaccinations going.

Don't expect Kate to come bouncing back straight after chemo ends; it can take a long time after to get back to your normal though her being fit and healthy previously will help greatly. She also doesn't need to personally cook healthy meals so unlikely to get into the cycle of being too tired to cook, eating unhealthily, and then feeling tired because you're not getting a healthy and balanced diet.

PS. I was delighted to wake up in HDU with no stoma so it's not a given that Kate has one.

After what he has put the Wales through, he was not entitled to find out personally. I hope he did find out from the press and it affords him some regret to how he's treated the lady he used to treat as a sister.

What has Harry said about the kids previously
Basically told William that his kids are going to end up like him.

That happened to me aged 30, it can strike at any age (didn't need a stoma) - no recurrence since, and I'm sure Catherine is getting the best care - I really hope it is something very treatable like this.

Thank you for your detailed explanation.

Wow, you have been through so much. I am glad you came out of it and hopefully put this behind you for good.

Well, with regard to the "statement" (if it deserves that title), we can probably answer the question ourselves as to whether he feels anything like remorse, humility or even the slightest sense of self-criticism.

Normally I'm really not a hater because I find these issues so complex and difficult, if not impossible, to evaluate from the outside, but this? Oh boy.

I think part of it, was that the info was going to come out anyway. The kids at school would tell their friends and teachers, and then the other parents would find out and it would spread beyond their control. Getting out in front of that was undoubtedly the goal now. There would be no way to have it be totally secret.

i’m skeptical. the whole thing absolutely stinks, where is will? an announcement of that magnitude and she’s sat there alone but wearing diana’s ring?
I’m not skeptical at all. She looks very vulnerable and frail and her voice was shaking. Even as someone who thinks the monarchy needs to end, I feel very sad for her just like I do for anyone who gets cancer. It seemed obvious that something bad had happened - I agree with a previous poster who said a divorce would have been better news.

I actually thought the H&M statement was pretty good. If they had gone overboard it would have looked false. I think despite the issues they have had in the past I’m sure they do wish her well.

I really feel for William and the children as well and hope he is also getting support along with the children. His wife and his father, their mother and grandfather both diagnosed so closely together.

My gut told me something was wrong.
I hope everyone that was obsessing, joking, being horrible, feeling horrible now.
These are real people, not just characters.

Apparently should of shut the f up

But then would that have helped? It's quite a difficult one to answer

Thank you! Not completely out of the woods yet as it will take a few years before the medics will pronounce on it but my scan, colonoscopy and bloods all came back clear on the anniversary of my operation and I've been discharged to the specialist nurses. I'm still unable to work due to the exhaustion but I'm only three years off retirement so...
