When did you start going grey?

I'd love my hair to turn silver/ grey.

I think I was about 33 or 34 when i noticed the first. I don't seem to have anymore yet so they must be appearing slowly. My dad's side of the family all still had dark hair in their 70s/80s and my mother's mam went pure white.(My mam dyed her hair so don't know how grey she was) . So I don't know who I'm going to take after .

I do have a stray white hair in my eyebrow but I pull it out.

My partner had grey hair when I met him and he was 23! He does have very dark brown/black hair and they tend to go grey earlier.

I was 12 when I got my first grey. Had quite a bit by the time I was 15. Premature greying seems to run in the family - on my dad’s side, so my mum is nearly 70 and I’m greyer than her. I’m on the other side of my mid 30s now and if the wind blows a certain way I’ve got a full of white skunk chunk (my natural hair is very dark dark dark brown)! I dye my hair on and off. Trying to get to the stage where my greys looks intentional and not just unkempt. The lock down and continuation of wfh has helped with this.

I look very young for my age so my greys are actually much loved.

27...not too many, but they are quite white. Only noticed them during lockdown.

A friend of mine has very dark brown, almost black hair and has a natural grey/white mallen streak through the front. It looks lovely.

I would say early 20s. I dye my hair at home every 6 weeks and am blond so it is not as noticeable. But I just turned 40 and am about 75% gray 😭
I have thought about letting it grow out but I don't think everyone can pull it off. I have a feeling it will just make me look older.

I'm ginger so I'm hoping it will be a long time before there are any greys! My grandad had his red hair into his 60s.

I’m 50 and only have a few. We don’t go grey, we go white!😁

Around about the time I started studying for my O-levels so about 15 years old. I had very dark hair though otherwise I may not have noticed the grey hairs so soon.

I started at 29 and I thought I was the only one but now I see I am not alone! I used to dye it every 3 months or so, but now due to Covid I’ve stopped and am considering just letting it be. I think the greys give me a bit of sophisticated “je ne sais quoi” 🤣🤣🤣. Okay, don’t know if it’s just me trying to make myself believe it or if it’s true, but there is certainly something liberating about not dying one’s hair. My husband doesn’t mind it, and as long as he says he can live with it, I will, too. My mom, on the other hand, has been dying her hair for years and can’t believe I let my greys show! She thinks I’m crazy. Maybe it’s a generational thing? I’m starting to think grey hair is kind of cool. 😎

I’m 29 and have a few greys, slightly noticeable but not from a distance. They started appearing a few years ago maybe sometime in my early 20’s.

I flip flop between wanting to go grey naturally and not hide that fact because why should I, to wanting to dye it and pretend it’s not happening.

Could be worse though, my aunt went fully grey at around 19.

15 or 16. Have dyed my hair ever since so not entirely sure but I think my natural colour could be white now

I was 25 or 26 and I found one single white hair at the back of my head and I was horrified. I didn't get anymore until I was about 28/29. I'm now 32 and have a fair few appearing at my temples but they don't bother me. When I'm 50% grey I'll probably start dying but I'm not getting busy when there's maybe just 30 in total. I used to pluck them, but I've had cycles of bad hair loss and right now, I'm just happy there's hair, grey or not!

16! I’m now 35 and if I didn’t die it my hair would be pure white!

My brother was also 14/15 when he started going grey.
