What Foundation/Base Product Do You Use?

They have, but also (if you’re UK based) Boots sell it online and if you buy it and it’s not the right shade you can send it back (might want to double check that as I don’t know if it was just a temporary policy though!)

L'Oréal true match. I like that its lightweight but still good coverage. I dont wear foundation everyday though, usually just tinted moisturiser

I really want to try Charlotte tilbury too, or urban decay.

Urban decay stay naked is brilliant and I’ve been a double wear gal for over 12 years

I use one from primark I should probably invest a bit more in makeup but I wear it so rarely it seems ridiculous for me to spend money on something I use about once a month! I do find the primark one fine though, quite like double wear in its consistency and coverage. I used to use a lovely bourjois (however you spell it) one for years and years but then it was discontinued

I have used so many over the years but now use Nars pure radiance tinted moisturiser. It is such a dream! It goes on and stays put (with a little powder) all day, looks nice and glowy and provides decent coverage without looking and feeling cakey. Also I think there’s something skincare-y in it to make your skin nice whilst you use. I use a concealer for any spots/red bits. For going out out I might use MAC studio fix but honestly just love the Nars one.

It is quite expensive but Look Fantastic/John Lewis/ASOS have 20% off pretty regularly so I have never paid full price and I must be on my 4th/5th tube now.

My skin is combination - a little oily and prone to breakout but also can get dry easily.

L’Oreal infallible is a good substitute but I found it quite drying.

Does anyone have experience of using Bobbi Brown foundation, ELDW and Charlotte Tillbury foundation? I have BB though find the mixture a little thick for my liking (I usually mix it up with a little illuminating balm to help the consistency) but looking for another option. Are the others the same or different?

I used to use DW every day but found it clogged my skin and gave me acne cause it was so thick

Rimmel lasting radiance for normal. Or double wear max coverage on bad skin days, my undereyes are really dark and I use the double wear as a concealer too

I like Rimmel Lasting Finish for a night out used with the matching primer. For daytime if I can be bothered I use either Bourjois Healthy Mix or No7 Stay Perfect. And always use the Vichy loose powder. I'm quite oily in the t zone and these don't make my face look too shiny and are long lasting, especially the Rimmel. I also like the Smashbox hydrating primer as my skin can get a bit dehydrated so sometimes use that on the cheeks and it doesn't make me oily but stops my foundation going on flaky.

Revlon’s colorstay felt like it was made for me as a teen and then I tried it again recently and really didn’t like it.

I’m an Oily Skin gal and supposedly Those with oily skin aren’t meant to use silicone primers. I’ve got my eye on the silicone-free NYX honey dew me up primers but quite expensive at £15 each... Anyone used these?

In the past I have flitted between double wear and mac studio fix.

I now wear L’Oréal Infalliable and absolutely adore it, I’ll never go back to high end. They do a matte one and a fresh wear one. It’s coverage is really good but doesn’t feel like a mask which double wear tends to do. I wear the fresh wear one and for the coverage it’s really dewy. Spray with Urban Decay All Nighter and it lasts the whole day. I’ve worn it on day drinks and stayed out until 3am and it’s stayed on.

the only thing Id say is the shade range isn’t as good as the high end products, so I buy 2 and mix to get my best shade, but I’m very pale. I usually buy when Superdrug do 2 for £12.

Someone bought me the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder glow last year for Christmas, and I love it under make up. My skin is quite dry so I find most primers don’t work for me the way they do for oilier skin. I tend to just moisturise loads and let it dry. So if anyone can recommend a good primer for dry skin hit me up.

I use NYX Pro foundation mixer to lighten my foundation as Im in between shades with Mac.

I use Estee Lauder's Double Wear as well. I get quite an oily t-zone and it stays in place. I use the shade Shell which is perfect for me too as I am quite fair and find most foundations too orange, pinky or yellowy.

I’ve tried so many foundations over the years. My absolute favourite is Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation.
I also use a tinted moisturiser from Beauty Pie for days I just want a lighter coverage.

I’ve used all three and would say BB is the lightest of the three! I love the CT newest one but it oxidises so quickly for me ELDW is my fave.

I'm tempted to try loreal infaliable as more of an every day instead of my double wear. Especially as I am likely to be working from home more now, I'll only be showing my face on the school run and on teams/Skype calls.

You should try Olay bb cream. Perfect for the use you want. I am not a fan of Infaliable and I use Double wear. Max factor lasting performance is a good foundation.

I love the finish that Studio Fix gives, but annoyingly I seem to fall between shades.

I use the Mac Pro LongWear waterproof foundation- which is great if you like a heavier coverage. I’ve tried pretty much everything and this is my favourite!
I personally found the Huda Beauty foundation so difficult to find a correct colour match, I either ended up looking like Casper the Ghost or a Terracota pot
For a primer I love the ole henriksen banana brightening primer...it smells DIVINE!

I genuinely prefer the Primark Double Wear dupe! Since discovering it in March I have always chose that over my DW and studio fix! Even on special occasions. Its amazing!
