What do you want to rant about today? #41

I ranted in the previous thread about my manager being unable to authorise my overtime before payroll cut off because he's away and his manager being unable to do it because he's basically a cabbage.

I sent an email to the department head asking if she could check the managers are familiar with the process because I was going to get a late payment for the second time. As it's bank holiday, I wasn't expecting a reply today. She has sent me an extremely passive-aggressive reply explaining the difficulties of the HR systems, cc'ing my manager on his personal email address (when he is on holiday) and finishing by telling me she hopes i feel reassured that so many managers are trying to help me on a bank holiday.

If you'd all done your bleeping jobs properly in the first place, you wouldn't need to be trying to help ensure your staff are paid in a timely fashion on a bank holiday. I'm having to sit on my hands to prevent myself sending her an equally passive-aggressive 'I'm so grateful to you for doing your jobs as managers' reply.
That's so rude of them wow, oh how terrible that people want to get paid for the work they did eh!!

I had a crap morning and I'm feeling very hopeless about certain things changing for the better. It sucks that you can't make someone understand your POV instead of them getting defensive about everything.

Giving blood. I have never been able to do the first test where the blood as to sink in the solution. So have always opted for the finger print and the machine to get my iron levels. They have now changed it to a blood test from the other arm, you are not donating from. So now I am walking around like a person who mainline's heroin 😭

Next door had their outdoor tv on from 8am yesterday and today. Yesterday I went to sleep at midnight to the sound of it, I imagine tonight and tomorrow will be the same. Who the duck thinks it’s normal to put a huge tv in their garden?!

Hope it explodes in the heat. Or the kid splashes the outdoor bath water on it.
Can you get one of those universal remotes, and tune it into their TV.
Then you can mess with it as you see fit 😉

I can't be on my new meds whilst the weather is like this and it's hard to say if they're working when I'm on a break from them. Already had a horrid dizzy spell and fell over in the middle of the street last week without them. (The bruised knee is 👌🏻).

I just want to be better 😣

I know we have this rant at least once on every thread, but I’ve just been out to the supermarket for a few bits and I have never had so. many. people. practically trying to climb inside me in my life. I was reaching for a box of grapes when I suddenly became aware of a presence over my left shoulder. I turned around and this woman was looming so closely over me that we could have probably kissed. I jumped a mile.

I don’t know when using our words to say “Excuse me” or waiting 5 seconds for someone to place an item in their basket and move along stopped being a thing, but I wish it was acceptable to pepper spray people in these situations. 😤

Keeping it vague for privacy and none upsetting wording.

The person I care for has a mental health diagnosis.

A few years ago they had a psychotic break, which lasted several months. They made attempts to ... and I was repeatedly told they were faking it/no sign of illness etc/attention. They had audio and visual hallucinations, self care was non existent. Body scars grew, should we say.

After a long battle the diagnosis finally came but it was just before covid and said Dr was never seen again.

They are teetering on the brink again and they (understandably) dont trust anyone in the medical profession and I dont know what to do anymore.

It baffles me that people who work in mental health are often the least caring people I have ever met - I wish they could see the damage they have done

The last three days I've managed to get my cat to eat his painkiller mixed into a lick-e-lix but today he won't have it and now he's sulking (presumably because he's in pain). I feel guilty enough that he needed a dental in the first place

Yeah I was moaning about getting into double digits,I didn't ask for 33 🙄. It was 9 degrees in my house last week,it's now 33. How ? Why ? Why can we not just have a normal spring and summer day anymore ? It's either one or the other,no gradual build up,it's not enjoyable at all in this country.

Already having a tit day and now I paid a lot for a manicure that looks really bad. 🖕 Just tell me you don't have the time for it instead of doing a rush job.

This is why I never go in the nail bars when it's busy, they rush and it's too expensive to waste my money like that. I attempted to go Friday Saturday and Sunday all rammed. Will wait till kids go back to school I think

Right? I should have gotten the hint when she asked me if I can come a bit earlier but I couldn't. I should have just skipped the mani as she's great at everything else.

One woman owns the place and she does everything herself so I don't want to get too cranky, since I go to her regularly but I really wish she told me she was in a hurry. I get annoyed every time I look at my hands, I'll have to go over it when I'm home.

This horrible humid weather!! Just bugger off! I am on SSRI'S that increase my heat intolerance, and am perimenopausal. How can anyone enjoy this temperature in this country 😫

We invested into blackout blinds in all the window recesses, so thankfully the house is really cool inside today even if pitch dark. I've barely ventured out other than 1st thing for a walk, the dogs are quite content indoors with a fan on them each :ROFLMAO:

To add to that, a family member gave us a hosepipe that is meant to attach to your shower and you hang it out of the window, but the attachment doesn't fit our shower or any of our taps. You can't get any hoses or hose attachments that fit our taps and this house has no outside tap!! It's a bloody joke, all the other kids get to have their pools and water things in the summer and my little girl can't. Stupid house

Makes me think don't do overtime to help them out in future. If they can't be arsed to pay on time and then get pissy with you for chasing.

This is what I say, we get no gradual introduction to the warmer temps, just shivering outside one week then bam, heatwave 30+ for several days. I bought an extra fan today and I am desperate for sunset when I can open my windows again.

I have had my blinds and windows shut for the last few days, luckily my son got me a Aircon unit last year for my room. I don't care about the cost at this point lol. It's done just as I said the other week, this is what happens now here. There's no spring or summer like it used to be,so we get a gradual build up. It just comes, uncomfortably high temperature out the blue,we can't cope,as we don't get accustomed to it.

I've been keeping the curtains and kitchen blind closed the last few days, partner kept pulling the blind open as far as it would go! I kept closing it again, i said it makes it hotter if it's open. He just kept saying no it doesn't and pulling it open again 😠
