I’m not sure what I believe. But at the weekend I had to put my beloved horse to sleep.. absolutely devastating. He was called Raven.. and then on Monday and Tuesday whilst I have been walking near my house a Raven like bird ( it’s not a crow or a jackdaw I’m really not sure) has been flying at me - gently like trying to get on to my shoulder. And as I walk down the street it hops from roof to roof and watches me it tilts its head and stares right at me. It is the weirdest thing. My boyfriend is quite spiritual and said it must be my horse. I’ve never seen it before and I always walk that way. It is a comforting thought. We have got to go somewhere when it’s our time surely

I don't know what I believe. As a child I believed in ghosts, now I've lost my parents and grandparents maybe I do just believe death is the end of life
However, I do honestly believe that experiences of people seeing 'ghosts ' have more to do with the person having the experience, rather than the 'ghost'

I’m not sure, but it’s probably more likely you die and that’s it. However, a part of me has to believe there may be something else because I lost my brother 12 years ago and I hold on to “Maybe I’ll see him again one day”

I think deep down I believe that we die and then it's lights off till we get tapped to go into another body with no memories from before. But I lost my grandmother 2 years ago and others and it'd be nice to see them again somehow. My grandma's son/my uncle also killed himself around 25 years ago so I hope for her sake she got to see him.

I believe your body is just a vessel and when you die your energy leaves the body and stays around your loved ones

Nothing has ever happened to me personally as I've not had a lot of death around me but I believe the stories of people having lights turned on/off and things being moved around as this is your loved ones using their energy to let you know they are close

I don't believe in heaven or hell and I'm not religious in any way

It is all about belief and faith. If you are a believer, the soul is infinite so goes on and on, gravitating towards good. I hope !

I really don't know. I always believed death was the end. But then my Grandparents died within 10 months of each other. Just before my Nan died she kept saying Grandad was there and had come to collect her. Then more recently my Dad has been in hospital on a ventilator with covid. When he came round the first time he kept talking about seeing his Dad 🤷‍♀️

Gosh I love reading everyone’s ideas and beliefs.
Death absolutely terrifies me. My one true fear above anything else.
My husband lost his mum last year and I was quite close to her. It was my first real dealing with death and I’m still heartbroken now.

when she reached the end, she kept saying she was seeing her mum in her dreams frequently who had died years before I knew my husband.

I want to believe there’s something after, perhaps some place of genuine happiness and I do believe there are signs and ways for them to comfort us when they aren’t here.

I am so terrified to loose anyone else in my family.

I’m lucky that I haven’t really had any experience of death around me either - only really my uncle. We never saw him so weren’t close and it sounds horrible but I didn’t really feel personal grief when he died - the worst thing was seeing my grandparents and my dad go through the grief of losing him. My gran had a really tough 18 months as she lost her son and 2 sisters and then my dad came close to death and spent a while in hospital.

That couple of days of not knowing whether he was going to make it was heartbreaking. The finality of it hit me like a train, all I could think was that he was so young and would never get to be a grandad or walk me down the aisle. Thankfully he’s fine now.

The thought of losing my mum scares me the most so I would like to think that your soul lives in somehow.

Does anyone randomly think about death and suddenly feel really terrified of the idea that you never exist or know what happens or feel anything again?

Yes.

Every time I hear about someone dying or watch something on TV where someone dies.

My dad was the same when he was dying in 2013. The day before he died he kept saying that his uncle was here as he was drifting in and out of consciousness, his uncle had been dead for nearly 30 years at that point. I hope it gave him some comfort before he died.

I used to believe in an afterlife but I haven’t for years now. I don’t know why it changed really. I think when you die it’s the same as before you were born, just nothingness. My mum has passed away and I just feel if she could show me a sign she would. But she hasn’t 😔

I don’t know what I believe, i like to think there will be a loved one waiting to collect you.

Ive mentioned this on another thread. My auntie died suddenly & her dad (my grandad) was in hospital, he had dementia & not said a word or recognised anyone in months. We was advised not to tell my grandad incase he remembered for a split second & sent him into shock. A week after my auntie had died my grandad kept shouting out for her. He died exactly two weeks after her at the exact same time & just before he passed he said he going with my auntie.

I believe in something not sure if it’s reincarnation , our souls / we are all energies somehow still somewhere in the universe . My dad past away last year and one night I said to myself I would love a sign that you are okay dad. I had a dream is was a clear dream not a weird dream - a flash of light and then behind me was someone standing there. I knew it was him I could sense him, he smelt like him I turned around he put his arms out and hugged me tight and he felt like him , his healthy Happy version not skin & bones - he told me he was just fine and I bolted awake. I’ve had dreams of him since but all chaotic like most of my dreams. I didn’t used to believe in anything but whether I need to now I don’t know but I do feel somehow we don’t fully die part of us lives on

I honestly would love for the afterlife to be something like we get reincarnated or relive our current lives on a loop but as much as I try I can’t convince myself that’s the truth, I am wired to think nothing happens after death and that terrifies me

So sorry for your loss .Losing a pet is always devastating ,I'm not sure about horses but there is a lovely poem called rainbow bridge about how your dog will be out of pain and will be waiting for you I can only hope there is a afterlife and I can be with my 3 girls again I'm missing them so much I wish I could be with them

I'm sorry for your loss ❤

Your story also strengthens my belief that your loved ones can appear in your dreams

I had a dream the other night about an old friend from school that passed away 3 years ago

It was a quick dream and it was him getting into my car and me being dumbfounded and saying something along the lines of 'wow *name* I thought you died' and he laughed and said 'nope I'm right next to you'

I woke up straight after he said that, it was so strange
