This is very morbid 😂 the unsolved murders thread got me thinking about death and how scary and final it is. It terrifies me that it could happen to anyone at any moment in a number of ways.

Anyway, what do you think happens when it’s finally your time? Do you believe in life after death?

I personally don’t - surely it’s just like before you were born i.e. nothing, you just cease to exist and that’s it.
I like the idea that your spirit remains and you can watch over your family etc or the idea of an afterlife (a la The Other Side in the Vampire Diaries where everyone is united and can communicate with the living 😢) but I personally don’t believe it. Interested to hear people’s thoughts and ideas!

I like to think that our souls move on to another body after death. For each body the soul learns more. New souls are the thick people who don’t have an ounce of common sense!🤣.
On a serious note I’m really interested in Past life regression if anyone has any stories.. ☺

I don’t believe anything happens. You just get buried or cremated and that’s you done. I don’t believe in reincarnation, ghosts, heaven or anything like that (but don’t have a problem if others do).

somebody once said they felt sorry for me that I didn’t have that kind of belief to help me with deaths but it’s doesn’t bother me, that’s just what I believe.

I once saw a psychic who said that death is just another part of our journey, and it’s when our souls get to go home. Whether it’s true or not I don’t know, but I think it just reassures some of us who can be a bit overwhelmed with it all 💕

Very interesting theory actually 😁 I don't believe anything happens but if I did believe in something, it would be reincarnation. Maybe because I always have a weird feeling I used to be someone else or some weird flashbacks 🤪 and it just sounds quite cool. I love your version of it 😂

I'm not religious at all but I do like to believe there is some sort of afterlife. I refuse to believe that once you die, that's it.

Death scares me so much. I do believe in spirits, it'd be nice to think our souls dont just cease to exist.

The film Coco gets me everytime; that in death, your memory of someone is what keeps their spirit around. When people fail to remember you, you disappear. Kids film, but i always cry at it!

We’re no different from any creature that lives and breathes, has some nice experiences and some painful. Once the body has gone, the light is switched off, just like when you’re unconscious from an operation and the time is gone. I wish it could be different and feel that it’s a strong human response to wish for reincarnation or heaven etc. That doesn’t mean of course that people close to us who have died aren’t kept alive, in our memories.

I can’t believe when you die that’s it, I don’t believe in ghosts or heaven and hell more that your spirit lives on. In the coco movie your spirit lives until the last person who knew you living died and as long as someone here on earth loved you the spirit was strong I kind of like the idea of that

I love that film 🥰 always in tears the whole way through. It would be lovely if that was true.

Thanks. I had anxieties with death as a child, not that I’d ever been directly affected. Taken me a long time to reason with it. :)

I don't believe in heaven, ghosts, but I am interested in reincarnation. My brother was born stillborn a year before me. My mother is adamant to this day that I insisted I was him in a new body, sent back. 🙃 I was about... three years old?

I don’t really believe anything happens... but... I do think the energy in us has to go somewhere.

In some ways I hope my lack of faith is proved wrong when the time comes, how I’d love my grandparents to be there waiting to throw a good old knees up!

I think you live, you die, the end.

I don’t mind what other people believe in though and wouldn’t laugh at their beliefs. I know people who have lost loved ones and will tell me they feel or sense them around or they get signs from them and I just nod and agree. If it gives them comfort then let them be. But I personally don’t believe it. But hey we’ll never know until our time comes 🤷‍♀️

You die, and that’s it. I don’t believe there is anything else to it (even if I’d prefer there to be). It never used to bother me, I’ve always believed that, but being a parent now I can’t bear the thought of not being around for my children.

I don't know, death is something that terrifies me. It's something that really troubled me last year. Just the thought of not breathing and where you go afterwards. I've read near death experiences where people say they went through a dark underworld to heaven.

There was something on facebook the other day that said we're all in a queue waiting to go to heaven and I spent the next couple of hours terrified and wondering where I am in the queue.

I read that theory is true, it takes on average, four generations before you are 'forgotten '. Example, I remember my grandma telling me about her parents / grandparents, but I don't know anything particular about them to pass on to my children.
