My cats are on Hill's prescription diet cat food, prescribed by their vet. One cat has FLUTD and the other has developed a food allergy so she's on prescription novel protein. It's $$$$$$ but worth it since non-rx will damage their health. Previously they liked sheba wet food and Iams or nutrish dry food.
Our cats are on a dry food only diet , we get the Purina one complete food and they love it .. have three bowls about the house (one per cat but they do share) and they graze , usually they have about 70g each a day … they love the crappy wet food like whiskas but our vet advised it wasn’t great so we changed about 2 years ago
For treats they occasionally share a tin of tuna or get cooked chicken , or sometimes will have a sachet of Sheba if ive been to pets at home
They are 3 healthy happy cats

My cat has Canagan wetfood but I also throw in some Lily's Kitchen and Carnilove. She has one tin/sachet a day of wet and the rest dry.
The dry food I like to cycle through include Canagan (especially the dental one), Carnilove and Eden. We've had Scrumbles and Lily's Kitchen before too. I'm going to have to brave either Sainsburys or Pets at Home to get some dry food as I've only a weeks left and I can't get to the usual petshop before I run out.
The lady at the petshop I usually buy the food from has told me that Royal Canin is basically overpriced Whiskas and full of sugar. She has tried to stop the owner from stocking it but its a good seller.

I have three Maine Coons and they get Felix sachets (4 per day between them) plus Royal Canin MC dry food. We don't have a lot of money atm and sometimes have to rely on the food bank to help us feed our cats. They usually give us a big bag of Whiskas dry food which we mix with the Royal Canin as one gets a runny bum if we completely change his food.
I'm shocked about Royal Canin being full of sugar, it was recommended to me by a breeder as it's specifically made for their bigger mouths to help clean their teeth.

We have an incredibly fussy Burmese, so finding food that works for her has been challenging. she would be happy to eat just dried but I want to keep her eating wet because Burmese are predisposed to urinary issues.
After trying lots of different wet, we’ve discovered she will only wet food if it is fish flavoured.. preferably tuna
we feed her a mixture of Lily’s kitchen and natural instinct biscuits in the morning.
at night, she gets wet food - if she had her way it would be solely canagans tuna with [other seafood]. She will not touch or even go near to anything that is not fish based, chicken is a big no no. We also feed her felix ‘as good as it looks’ fish flavours to give her some variety as she will consider eating the non-tuna ones occasionally (although mostly it gets binned). She also won’t eat applaws unless it’s plain tuna
if anyone can recommend any fishy, high quality wet food I’d be really interested!

My cat will only eat Sheba which I'm sure isn't the best. I've tried better quality foods but she sniffs and walks away like a little madam! I do give her some dry food too but she can't have dry food only due to constipation. I would love to get her into the fancier stuff.

She loves the Encore range, ocean fish, tuna, tuna and salmon - they are her favourites. And we buy the royal canine/Hills/Purino one dry food. She gets wet food in the day and then we have a little bowl of dry food out for her incase she gets hungry. The dry food always has to be fish flavoured. Spoilt little madam
This comment has really concerned me. I have been feeding my indoor cat Purina indoor formula and the indoor Purina wet cat food formula. Has anyone had any bad experiences with this paticular type ?
My cat eats Perfect Fit but we only really got him the brand because the dogs have it and he kept stealing their food
We got him some Encore fish fillets for treats and he has since decided that wet food is a no go, so we try to give him that once a week at least. Also treats like Dreamies for his food-dispensing ball which he now seems to prefer to just having the treats dropped in the bowl

My cat loves the Encore tuna and ocean fish food but will not touch the tuna and salmon one. edited to add: my cat completely went off chicken too - when she was little it was all she’d eat and she wouldn’t touch fish. She used to love the Thrive chicken food but then went completely off it, won’t touch chicken at all now and lives on fish. Same with Dreamies, she used to get the odd one as a treat and loved them but now won’t touch them. Cats are so weird!
Fussy little buggers aren't they! I had bought chicken stuff previously, she sniffed it and walked off. So that all got donated to the cat rescue near me. My cat also likes the lillies kitchen stuff.

I stick to Encore now and high-meat content biscuits. She’s really fussy about biscuit size too and it drives me wild, twice I’ve had to find a new brand for her and it’s a real struggle!My cats have been on Purina biscuits since we got them , were recommended by our vet and by the cats protection when we got them and they’ve been fine ..

Will maybe avoid getting it again then however we only ever really buy her one or two of the wee packets anyway because she is that fussy, we have wasted a fortune on cat food only for her to decide she isn't a fan 
Tesco do some deals on the Encore stuff from time to time.My cat eats wet food downstairs in the kitchen, we put some biscuits beside it but she will never touch them, she will only ever eat biscuits from her bowl on the landing, she never has wet food up there - the cat knows what she wants! Princess of the house.

She'll occasionally get some proper fillets of fish cooked without oil or seasoning or some sardines in spring water, deboned and mashed up. She's a year old with a beautiful coat so hopefully I'm doing the right things?!

Thanks, that's good to hear. I used to feed my cat the generic maybe more unhealthy Whiskas etc and thought that putting him on a diet of indoor forumula Purina would do him some good so seeing the comment about Purina being linked to deaths worried me. He's generally a pretty laid back boy and eats anything. The only thing he ever turned his nose up to was Blink.
I looked into this after reading the comment on Purina foods and from what I could see most of the problems seem to be linked to Felix. They have recently changed the formula of their food and it is making lots of cats ill. There are a lot of Facebook and Trustpilot comments on this. The problems seem to be with the new Felix pouches labeled with 'No Colourants' from what I read.
Ah that's a relief to hear for me at least. I feel terrible for anybody who's lost a pet though the food they've been eating, that would be horrible. I find Purina is good and my boy enjoys it, especially their wet cat food indoor formula and it's affordable for me. The dry cat food bag lasts a while.
One of our cats (the only girl , Tilly) is very fussy .. she will not eat any wet food apart from Shebe and Gourmet and it’s why we moved to dry food only diet ! We bought them all a Lily’s Kitchen Turkey Dinner thing for Christmas - the boys wolfed it down but she turned her nose up at it ! Purina is the only thing she’ll eat !
