I 'retired' almost a decade ago at the age of 30 to look after my kids. Prior to that I worked for local government in both Financial and Electoral Services and the also for the UK Consulate in Madrid. I'm lucky in that I don't need to work anymore, don't feel like going back either. What I do now is harder than any job I've had but I do miss the intellectual stimulation.
I bet Madrid was amazing!

Full time dole bum. This entails letting my kids do whatever the duck they want, I get my benefits on a Friday and by Monday they're all gone. Most of it up my nose, in my lips or on my face. These benefits never give me enough for nappys, milk, electric and gas though. bleeps. I miss Jezza Kyle and seeing my mates on it most days.

In all seriousness, I actually work with Children. 😁

I'm a plumber for the local authority, we often joke in our section that the job would be a breeze if there were no tenants but there are some really nice ones out there who do look after their homes even though they don't own them!

Benefits officer for a local authority. It was interesting and challenging before UC came in, now it's repetitive with the odd juicy claim to get stuck into

I work on insurance - regulation and compliance. I do enjoy it but often contemplate looking for ‘something Else’ but feel that I don’t really have any transferable skills....

Retired now, but I used to be a journalist working in the trade press - in marketing. It was an interesting time - I used to write about Customer Related Marketing, e.g. when Tesco etc first launched their club cards. It was the biggest deal then. :giggle:
