Things to work on this year:
Try and stay well out of workplace drama 🤔
Not taking phone up to bed.
Making days off more worthwhile. Now national trust member so no excuse.
Eat better / drink less alcohol 😁

- A concerted effort to actually do things in the evenings after work, instead of endless scrolling on my phone - even if it is just watching something on Netflix
Yes! I'm WFH and I jump from my laptop screen to my phone screen. I'm amazed when I watch something on TV without checking my phone multiple times, how bad is that 😂

Well TBH I would probably be the same if I went to a designer warehouse sale. 😊
Phew! I'm not alone!
Normally I wouldn't even look in on these sales, but I thought I'd just have a wee browse...next thing you know, I have a basket full of goodies!

Loose weight. I want to lose a stone. Know it's not massive but it's all I need to lose. Before my baby was born I was massively into fitness and eating healthy (not a diet, just eating healthy) then at 20 weeks pregnant I had a massive internal bleed (picked up on 20 week scan) and was told not to exercise and go onto office dutys at work (normally in a very active roll). I'll be back at work soon so hopefully that will help!

Also love the idea of cutting down. I've done it for my self but find it so hard to do for the kids 😫

- More sensible spending and thoughtful purchases; really considering before I buy
- More balance in my eating; fruit and veggies being the focus
- Continue to shift towards eating less meat
- Keeping on top of household chores rather than letting things build up
- Living in the moment; try not to worry or stress over what could or might be and enjoy the right now
- A concerted effort to actually do things in the evenings after work, instead of endless scrolling on my phone - even if it is just watching something on Netflix

Regarding cutting down with children I think car boots are good for toys, books and clothes. You can get some real bargains and the kids don't feel like they are missing out.

I want to be consistent in the gym. I got really into last year and then fell off the wagon. I got back into it a few weeks ago after 6 months off and I have fallen in love with it again.
I love lifting weights and I’m buzzing to get super strong and further my knowledge even more. I’ve learn a lot about exercises, form, programs, tempo, tut, etc but so much more to learn.

Lose weight seriously and get fitter.
Make time for me and stick to to it.
Telling my husband exactly what I want from him and what I want him to do.
Saying “no” to people more.
Think that’s about it so far but I could have more 🤣

I'm doing a combined registry in haematology and psychiatry and it's taking me years... and now I feel awful these past few months becsuse I want to change and I can't.

I regret not doing peatiatrics. Hopefully I can do something about it but for now goal is to somehow get into haemo and psych with kids lol

My goal is just my career. I've had 3 long term relationships from age 14 to now and now I just want to be alone and get my career sorted. It's always been more important than any fella I've dated.
I like your idea of specializing in Pediatric haematology or psychiatry as your next step. That converts your current education into a path that is closer to your passion. It will take more time but it's entirely worth it if the end result is that you are in a career you love. :)

Wishing you the best of luck and very happy to hear that you're investing in yourself above a relationship. Hopefully your successful career will lead to a partner who respects values your work ethic!

Do you have any specific questions about low-buy that you'd like to ask? I'm happy to discuss. :)

I have a big birthday this year and I’m planning at least 3 holidays so I’ll be doing low buy as a way to pay for them 😂 I was wondering if you include holidays or if you have them and spend/buy freely? It’s something I would really like to start doing

Happy birthday in advance! :D

Thank you!
I’m off to New York for the first time in a few weeks and I will bringing back some souvenirs and American sweets/cereal for the kids in my family. I’m not buying any new clothes for going as it will still be cold and I’ve been advised to dress comfy. I bought new clothes with Xmas money in the sales so I definitely don’t need anything else.

I’m terrible for buying something and never using it or wearing it so this year I need to learn to utilise what I already have 😀

I'm really interested in OP's low buy idea!

The ones I've settled on are:

* no drinking or smoking (things I only did socially anyway in the past)
* less screen time -- specifically as regards social media (I'm using an app to help with this)
* get down to pre-baby weight or just find confidence in my body (I just have to give birth first!). I've had a complicated pregnancy and I feel like my body has really failed me in many respects because I've had so many ailments. I can't wait to feel like I'm back in charge of my body and how it functions.

Thanks for the update and well done!
Ironically, whilst every other year has been an easy low-buy for me, this year went the other way.
I have bought 8 items that were not originally on my list. My excuse is that there was a designer warehouse sale (clearance sale on designer goods from several seasons ago) and I got everything at 90% off (each item came in under £25 and in absolutely perfect condition).
Each piece is a practical and fun addition to my wardrobe (2 pairs of jeans, 2 handbags, 3 tops and 1 pair of shoes), but I'm still quite cross with myself! I completely forgot about my low-buy in the excitement of that sale.
Now I've got to get back on track for the rest of the year....

That's a particularly good one!

Stop saying yes to things I don’t want to do, and don’t feel I have to justify reasons why. I’m getting better, just been asked out to an evening event I really didn’t want to go to, and I just politely declined without explaining why, just said no. Feels good to have boundaries!

The others are similar to lots of you, buy less and use what I have. Question whether every purchase is a want or a need.

Read more books, I’m on a good start with that and on my third this year so far.

Improve my health and mental well-being.

How are you finding bounce back to netball? There is a club near me that I've been thinking about joining for over a year but just haven't found the courage.

I'm so socially awkward and my fitness is lacking (away to restart c25k to try get some base fitness) but I loved netball in school, even though that seems like a million years ago 😂
I love it. I’ve persuaded my sister to come along too. I’ve been doing couch to 5k and it’s good. But the netball goes in so fast.
Id really recommend it. Who knows if we’re near we might meet at a tournament lol.
I hadn’t played in 12 years.
