Unfortunately there isn’t a specific easy way, some people find certain diets easier to stick to than others. I know a few people that had great results through intermittent fasting but personally it sounds very difficult - it depends what your eating patterns are like to begin with, I know I couldn’t go for that long without food but for other people it doesn’t bother them so much.
You need to look at why you’ve gained weight. Do you track your calories? You are probably eating slightly over what you need, which is what causes the weight to creep up. Get MyFitnessPal and also look online to calculate your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) which will give you a rough idea of your “goal” calories. Sometimes even reducing your intake by just a couple hundred calories can help you lose weight.
A few easy lifestyle changes can also help - smaller portions, skimmed milk if you normally have semi, snacking less.
You don’t have to do anything drastic in order to lose weight, just be in a slight calorie deficit and do some gentle exercise when you can :)

Hey there’s a weight loss advice thread on here with lots of us which may be helpful to you. But the poster above is right you just need to be in a calorie deficit forget teas and fasting. With a deficit you can just eat the foods you still love but less of it. In my lifetime I’ve lost nearly 8 stone just eating in a calorie deficit and still eating the foods I love

Hello
*TW - JUST IN CASE ANYONE IS TRIGGERED BY WHAT I SAY*

So I am desperate to loose weight.

I find it really hard to find motivation, just because I generally feel down quite often and my motivation will come and go. I have the ideas in my head but I can't physically do it or make myself. I don't want to loose a great deal, I just want to drop a couple of dress sizes. I am a 14 in jeans and feel so disgusting saying that.

I used to be a 10/12 but I want to be this size again. My top half is a 10/12 but my wardrobe has a range of sizes from an 8 - 14.

I know people will be mad by me thinking a size 14 is big to me but it is because of I see myself and the way I am shaped

So the advise I'd like, is there a good 'lazy' way of loosing weight? For people who struggle to find the motivation? It's not that I am lazy, like I said my mental health just works against it.

Do Slimming teas work?
Does fasting work? Where you only eat between 12-8

I will gladly do small workouts and I can cook decent meals. Any advice would be great, thank you.

What is your main problem with keeping motivated and on track? Is it because you're not sure what to do to lose weight? Is it you can't stay in track because you feel hungry? Do you get bored?

Like other replies said, you need to be in a caloric deficit to lose weight--this can be achieved by either exercising (to burn off the eaten calories) or eating less, or a combination of both (the healthiest way imo). How you will achieve the deficit through diet depends on you- some people love fasting, some people prefer eating lots of smaller meals, some people swear by keto- all these diets work the same way-by creating caloric deficit.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it should really be something sustainable for the rest of your life- yeah you won't need to always be in a deficit but going back to old habits will always result in putting the weight back on. Find something that works for you, includes the foods you love, has enough flexibility to maintain it through various things that come up in life, and take it slow. Only slow weight loss is really sustainable, especially when you don't have much weight to lose and by what you said it sounds like you only want to slim down a bit.
